But you were happy to ride Baldies dick for years lol. How many flogging’s were acceptable under Baldie??? Have a look at the side being trotted out at the moment??

What do you honestly expect?? It’s the selfish senior players who have been the worst. That spine is hot garbage and the bench looked Q Cup standard. Anyway he at least needs 11 seasons to show what he can do huh that’s the standard for this club.

This is the exact shit you and your mates pull, hey

People wanted caution and a decent replacement, not a knee jerk Daniel Anderson sacking and the next Bigface, and that apparently equates to riding the coaches dick. Apparently not wanting the side to get worse is a problem for you lot? Lmao.

😂😂 There you go again. My hero? He was a decent coach and we've replaced him with a guy who doesn't even seem to have a game plan and has said and done precisely zero things to impress anyone over a full off season. All anyone (well, apart from Poutismo) ever said was when we do part ways, sacking or end of contract, let's just make sure we get someone at least the same level if not better and don't f**k the club again.

It's like 9/10 Eels fans don't understand you can have a view that isn't totally black or totally white. Which reading the Eels forum is hardly a surprise I suppose given 9/10 on there are actually insane or stupid. Or both. Or cookers.

Ryles is dealing with a whole culture of ineptitude. If he's given scope to change the whole culture he's a chance, if not he'll be bald within the year.
He needs time weather a fanbase which is closing on 4 decades of failure has the patience to sit through a few more tough years who knows.

The rot in the joint has only been cleaned out a quarter full.

He still has plenty of deadwood from the previous regime on big money not pulling there weight right now.

Some senior players yesterday were taking the piss with there effort and attitude.

Looks like a new sheriff is in town and the underperforming senior players ain't liking the change that has been needed for a long time.

Moses being out has probably dragged us from a 10-11 win season to a 5-6 win season this year tbh if he even gets on the park.

Ha!! Previous bloke got 11 years, 6 seasons after he won a spoon. So you suggest we keep Bradley for years on end until Wobbo, Bennett or a Bellamy are off contract?? It’s f**king been two games without our most important player. It’s hilarious t out your views after defending baldie year on year. Get off the Bentspokes Bruv!!

The only thing I've suggested is you reap what you sow. And plenty of Eels fans deserve this lmao

Injured or left out. It's a thin squad and it's really noticeable that these guys aren't on the park. Along with RCG gone. Lack of second phase which was their hallmark. Rudderless in the spine.

And blame Brown but the rest of the spine isn't first grade standard. Iongi the best of them and he still makes some whopping mistakes.

I mean is he safe if he goes 0-12? 0-15? I'm not sure it's ever been a thing before.

As an Eels fan, I've never seen us play so badly. Genuinely. We've had years where the cattle were just awful, but they tried and you could at least see what the coach was trying to get them to do. I get the argument that it's two games in etc, but I haven't seen a single sign of a game plan or a defensive structure from us at all.

But anyone is better than BA @hineyrulz
The Tigers didn't have "line speed" because they simply waited for the Eels.. what I'm saying is not only did they get flogged, but it was by the Tigers and not because the Tigers " turned up " ...
Only 2 games but bloody hell.

I don't know if Jason Ryles will be a good first grade coach or not. But to judge him based on two games is a pretty poor metric to base his coaching on.

Ryles inherited a roster with multiple issues. He had a very costly spine that has been delivering diminishing returns for different reasons. He also had quite the interesting combo of big money forwards that were simply not delivering to their pricetags and is now left with the worst front row rotation in the comp.

I don't blame him for letting go of the two players he did over the offseason. Gutho was on big bikkies and his returns were diminishing. For a club in need of a rebuild, saving a few dollars that way and developing a talent like Iongi is the way forward....not keeping a man with no knees.

Moving on RCG and his salary is fine as well. He seemed pretty busted last year and was poor yesterday.

The hard fact for Parra is that it is going to get worse before it gets better. There are still well and truly some players....particularly in the pack....that need to go.

A rebuild takes time. Lets see what moves Parra make with letting go some dead weight as well as going into the market first before truly judging him.

I will say this.....he was a little bit too cool for school in that presser yesterday...seemed like he just woke up from a nap.

I don't think Payten is in any danger just yet, he got the Cowboys to a preliminary final in 2023 and they finished 5th in 2024, that's a pretty successful career as Cowboys coach thus far only missing the finals in his first year. I think Ryles will get time as well but it isn't looking great, 13+ loss to the Tigers and at no point did the Eels look competitive, not great recruitment either.

For me a different answer to most here but Des Hasler could be one to look at, he's 8 wins and 18 losses, he hasn't recruited well since being at the club and you would expect them to run bottom 4 this year as well. They don't seem to be linked to anyone to fill key positions and every time I see the Titans it doesn't seem like anyone is improving either.

The roster isn't bad with former grand final winners/rep players on the playing roster including the likes of Brimson, Fifita, Foran, Fotuaika, Tino and Verills plus last years top tryscorer in Khan-Pereira.

Probably better for everyone if Eels were disbanded, the leagues club repurposed into community housing and the playing field at Commbank heavily salted.

Good assessment. The Titans opening game wasn't great , Des has had his grace period, I'd probably give him 3 more games. If there isn't clear evidence of success emerging, he's gotta go.

Complete rubbish

There is literally 3 articles about it today lol and all of them know about a much as the roosters squad as you.

Terrell May I agree with you, that's a head scratcher. The others are completely fine.

Let's analyse your claim of no replacements.

Keary retired (ended up going to SL). He finished one year earlier than anticipated. Sandon Smith gets first crack and it's expected they will recruit for next season.

JWH - went to SL for a retirement tour. Our prop rotation is Collins, Leniu, Butcher, Whyte, Va'a and Steep. Three of those were unavailable on Thursday.

Suali'i/Manu - both went to union. Manu will likely be back next year. Toia is highly touted and just debuted. Marky Mark has played two games now.

Sitilli - this has to be my favourite one. He probably doesn't make our full strength 17 yet apparently he is the worst recruitment mistake in history. Our starting 2nd towers are Crighton and Radley, you want to argue he is better than either of them? Next in line are both Butchers, Wong and Whyte. Two of those players weren't available on Thursday and Radley lasted 10 minutes. Depending on what you want to do at lock, at least two of those missing out on a full strength 17.
Also on Sitilli he has bad hands through contact and if he logs too many minutes he gets lazy arms in defence that lead to penalties/suspension.

Great highlights but if you watch him enough you can see why a coach would move on.

Plus, not the most durable forward around. He gets his fair share of injuries.

Gold Coast are a funny club though. They (and their fans) don't seem to have the same will for success as other clubs. They seem to settle for mediocrity. In all honesty, they "should" go okay, but you never know with them.
