Losing Strange before the game hurt Canberra. He is the real "x factor" ot its attack. He can make a break, but even more importantly..... he's willing to pass the ball to an unmarked player!

I could not believe how many tries Canberra butchered due to the "hero ball" play of some of them in the first 15 minutes or so of the second half. Instead of passing to unmarked team mates in support, the ball carrier went himself and was tackled. Then, to make it worse, it would get out to first receiver, who would just crab across field and not find a straight runner steaming onto the ball. Starling I think screwed up one good raid when, after the player who made the tackle bust got pulled down 10 metres out, Starling went himself when they were set up on the short and long sides to attack. Just madness.

Cronulla did what they had to, when they had its chances. They also minimised mistakes.

Final note to Canberra ...... CATCH GENERAL PLAY KICKS ON THE FULL!!!!!

Fogarty is no loss. One of the most limited halves in the comp imo; mental midget, awful defender, clueless in the attacking 20m but has a great long kicking game with good floating bomb. He’ll end up back up for Joey Walsh mid way through next season

You can't say losing a 7 isn't a loss.

As limited and boring as he is. Still effective. Even the Titans made the finals with him in the 7.

I have a huge wrap on Sanders. But Strange his partner? Its a very green spine in 2026. Really difficult to predict what happens to the Raiders next.

I was afraid of what Weekes could do to us. With all of that ball in the first 30 he was nowhere to be seen.

Very surprised.

Is it just a coincidence that the Raiders season fell in a heap the same moment skeepe gloated about the possibility of the Knights getting the spoon and the Raiders winning the comp at the same time?

Raiders tactics lately has been very suspicious. The forward's get gassed out about the 60th minutes mark. Cause of it

Brailey would take Pattie’s bench spot which is a minor upgrade. Finau will be pushing Savage for starting winger which if injury free I think he will take. That will hopefully mean Jed is never seen in first grade.

Biggest hurdle Canberra will always have is Ricky. Losing Strange so late is tough but partnering Sasagi with Fogarty is all time levels of stupid. His use of the bench continues to be ridiculous, he just seems to forget to make changes in the second half.

100%. Sure it's sudden death footy, but the smart move would have been to start Sanders. That's the point of having a backup half, who has trained with the first-grade squad all year and has put the reps in. It's not like he's been injured all year etc. That's what the Storm did with Pezet, who granted is older but hasn't played much more first grade than Sanders and is coming off a serious injury.

Ricky's decision here reminds me of the time Shane Flanagan started an already-injured Todd Carney in a finals match in 2012 (ironically enough it was against the Raiders), who proceeded to tear his ACL.

Ricky has told Finau he sees him as a centre. He'll be pushing Timoko to improve his defence or get leapfrogged there. Will also be a better backup winger option than Jed.

Xav is a lock on the wing especially after Ricky left him out there taking hit ups with a broken shoulder. He loves that stuff.
