What will be interesting is Panthers wingers don't have the height of ours, Cleary's bombs I think will be more targeted at our centres

Maybe they’ll adopt to same strategy the Raiders did: tell the winger to contest the ball, but over run it. When you jump for it, you collide with the defending winger and take him out of action.

That’s how they got their second try.

Another one who is vilified by the many old Hiroti - post his trial form vs the Warriors, the bloke looks likely if Kennedy blows a sandshoe. Solid as

Never understood the hate.
He had a forgettable debut, but so have many others.

He’ll never be a world beater, but he’s solid as and can do a job when needed.

I was happy for him to get a run in the All Stars, and disappointed he didn’t have the legs to score after scooping up a loose pass.

Seems a really good club man as well.

I doubt there’s anyone who hates Stonestreet on this forum. But I know a lot of people on this forum hate the talk from some that he is currently a better option than Katoa or Mulitalo on the wing

People have only been pointing out areas he needs to improve or is deficient in compared to our incumbent wingers.

The kid is going to get a solid go in First Grade now and no one is hoping he fails. Everyone is hoping he knocks it out of the park.

But kick returns, handling and defusing bombs definitely need to be worked on with his game.

Pretty hard to judge a kid that’s only had a handful of top grade games and not too many consecutively. Yeah I wish TTF was still on the wing but shit happens and we now get to see a good stretch of consecutive games to see if he’s up to it before committing to a long term contract. I reckon he’ll give it a red hot go. I remember how much shit some of you guys were putting on Iro early on. Crickets now.

Gutted to lose Katoa - I’m a big fan of his, think he’s criminally underrated. I don’t see any Stonestreet hate, just a negative reaction to some people criminally underrating our existing wingers (who are elite) and the same people criminally overrating where Stonestreet is at right now.
This is Stonestreets big opportunity, his ‘Iro’ moment… he’s got an extended period in the team now, if he’s as good as some people have made out, he’ll take ownership of that wing spot and Katoa doesn’t find his way back into the team. I’d say this next 4 months are make or break for Stonestreets Sharks career. If he doesn’t cut the mustard over the next 4 months, Katoa comes back and Sam will be looking elsewhere for his next deal.

Looking for Iro to take a step up again this year. He’s the least fluid in our backline in attack. He hasn’t got the hands like Takakai , or run over the top of people like Talakai.

But he’s more sound in defence out wide than Talakai. He’s definitely more agile than Talakai.

I’m looking to see if he lift his attacking qualities this season. We need skill and punch from our centres.

Reckon they’ll be a massive upside in Iro over this next year of two. They say Fitz kept it pretty simple for him in his first year… focusing on his defence and doing all the little things right. Reckon he’ll up the ante (Fitz) and Iro will grow into a role where he’ll develop into a real attacking weapon over time.
