2 teams I’m struggling to get a read on are Roosters and Dolphins - I think there’s a decent possibility Roosters potentially drop even further and have a nightmare season.

Dolphins…. If Flegler and Gilbert can be fit, Hammer and Farnworth fire, they’re a real handful. But equally, a couple of injuries, and they could crash and burn.

Don't forget the post Bennett factor

Theyre a real interesting watch. I still think the halves are an issue, Katoa has started both seasons well but faded late. Whos their 5/8? Still Nikorima?

One thing about Woolf though is that hes the one coach to follow Bennett thats actually coached his own team for more then a season. Head coach of St Helens for 3 years compared to Henjack, Price, Seibold (1 year at souths), Demitriou. he's also coached Tonga for 10 years.

Strong 1-5. Lower quality half pairing, mid and aging pack, depth looks poor. I dont think their ceiling is that high with this squad, probably around 6th, yet definitely have crash and burn potential.

Yeah it's a BS factor, Kristian Woolf is a pretty good coach, I really don't think the loss of little Wayne, the super coach will affect them that much, it was just a shitstir comment, one that the talking heads on fox or nien would bring up, for controversy sake

Eh it's tough until all mid season moves are done, there's always something that flips it.

But I'm bored so I'll do a half prediction.

Top Two - Panthers and Storm. Also the GF.

Big improvers - Brisbane and Parra. Both could go either way but I'll back them in and possibly even for finals.

Brisbane have a real coach, who could get the coddled players offside of course, but I think he will bring a backbone that Kevvy seemed to lack. Hunt will be great get at hooker or six, given Ezra's post Leniu nose dive especially. The squad is still good enough

Parra I think were a fringe 8 squad last year who lost our halfback, sacked the coach prematurely given no Moses, and then gave up. Gutho and RCG are big losses but I think Ryles has been savvy with his replacements, especially in the forwards where he's moved towards the more mobile style. He's also improved our depth a lot (halves esp with Hawkins and probably Volkmann) and the backline shits on last year's. If we can jag a real hooker it'll be interesting. Bias acknowledged ofc, and Melbs assistants don't always go well outside Melbs.

Big fall - Roosters. Something just seems off over there as others have said. The May stuff, Brandon Smith carrying on like a pelican all through the media, JWH is gone too and the halves look weaker.

For Souths I feel like it'll either be Wayne magic dust, our good players will actually be fit and happy, and we'll be back to the top 4-6.... or we're proper f**ked and Wayne starts a rebuild and we're bottom 4 again.

I can't see a "mid" season for us.

Honestly your spine is awful. Top 4 would be an amazing achievement

No way are the mighty Tigers finishing bottom 2 next year. 11th - 14th most likely I reckon.

Big improvers from this year will be broncos.
Should be top four.

If Penrith finish in the top four they should be favourites for five straight.
