MRC has got the grading wrong again with no charges out of the Tigers and Dragons game. Dragons should be charged for impersonating first graders.

wtf Preston tackle was clumsy with a player falling backwards into him. Resulted in pressure on the neck so a penalty was warranted but 3 weeks is an absolute joke!

I don't remember Preston's other 2 offences, but if they were anything like this one, 3 weeks is farcical.

Tino lucky to be walking if we're being honest.

I get the impression that the current day judiciary environment discourages the contesting of a charge either for downgrading of the charge or a not guilty plea. Just seems like players/clubs acquiesce these days.

It's only because of the other 2 offences that he's facing any time out at all. Base penalty for his charge is $2,000. The suspension is because he keeps doing it. He doesn't have the other offences, he's looking at a fine and free to play next week.

The real joke is Trent Loiero going head-hunting and not receiving a charge for any of his 5 offences, yet Seb Kris gets charged for something nobody even remembers.

Im saying this one was hardly worthy of a penalty. So if the other 2 were identical, copping 3 weeks is a farce. I don't remember them though.

I thought Preston's was one of the worse crusher tackles i've seen in years.
Well deserving of a week or two on the sidelines, and since he's got multiple priors, he eats the shit with loading

Perfectly reasonable result imo

the other 2 were nothings which he accepted early guilty fines!
One against St George & one against Newcastle.

I think clubs will have to start contesting the nothing fines cause they can screw you later!

Surely Jaydn Su'A had to have been charged with something??? Grade 4 contrary conduct to the ball, Bringing the game into disrepute as a minimum.

Tbh I don't think non-suspension priors should contribute to a future suspension. Big flaw in the system that they essentially gear it towards not contesting minor charges, but lodging a guilty plea for those minor charges can get you a three week ban later

I can only assume they figured into it that he will spend the next week having splinters removed from his colon and thought that punishment enough.

You're welcome to think whatever you like, Preston is a fine player but not exactly someone that the game next weeks rests on. It was a terrible tackle and he's got multiple priors.
Dude you're supposed to switch accounts when you come out with insane takes.

You genuinely don't watch enough footy if you think that was one of the worst crusher tackles you've seen in years.

I watch almost every game in every round.
It's incredibly rare that a player loses his feet and puts his weight of pressure on the neck like that.

There is a reason why he binned for it, i can't remember the last time a crusher got binned, because most of them are fairly innocuous.
But the referee explained exactly why that was and why they considered it particularly dangerous, and the MRC has confirmed it as such.

But go ahead and check notes about who the dogs are playing next week, and then check your notes on who Preston plays for and who you support and have a think about who's biases might be more at play here.
