Following the blog...

6.12pm NRL legal counsel, Patrick Knowles, SC, asked the panel to consider four questions:
- was there forceful contact
- was that forceful contact generated by the shoulder or upper arm
- were there arms involved in the tackle
- was it careless.

Absolute insane asylum that these are the key measures for a shoulder charge, according to the NRL. The first two are legit the aim of tackling in Rugby League.

As written, any hard hit with your shoulder should be charged.

But of course, the NRL doesn't allow "non-charges" as evidence.

Then we have Ghabar's defence of "yeah but he tried hard".

No chance he gets off.

From the NRL's live blog

7.32pm Jack Wighton has been found GUILTY. Judiciary chair Geoff Bellew said the decision was unanimous.

Unclear what Souths expected tbh. It was a shoulder charge.

I agree absolutely that it wasn't a 4 game shoulder charge, but the judiciary hasn't been overturning the MRC much this year

At least 2 branches of the "system" are in sync.

Now it's time for the bunker to get with the program.

As it was Wighton's second offence for the season, could it be that it attracted some loading which is what pushed it up to 4 matches if found guilty?

crito is the worst type of grub one that has everyone thinking he is a clean skin.

Almost every week he is involved is something and gets away with it. One of my most disliked players in the game.

So in the week that the NRL go on record saying how great it is that the Dogs are doing well and how much money theyll make from them hosting home finals, their captain escapes a high tackle charge for a shoulder clean to the head which knocked a bloke into next week. Nothing to see here.

And watch the next poor unfortunate no name player that accidentally slips and hits someone high cop a suspension.

They are playing the Warriors this week, the ultimate insult would be RTS shouldering Crichton in the face (like he did to RTS last year to no punishment beyond a penalty), and seeing RTS get sent.

We have the TMM high shot from the first game last year still to avenge as well, hoping the rugby league gods allow it 🙏
