because what's the point anymore when you have clubs giving away free memberships? The whole metric is now a complete waste of time to track.Side note, but why do only some clubs release membership figures?
And why doesn't LeagueUnlimited publish a membership ladder anymore.
We should be boasting, our membership is higher than ever as a game, Dolphins for example already had 35k+ in their third year?
Surely LU could obtain and publish all clubs' figures?

I just googled it and couldn't find anything on this.
Registrations for season 2025 are now open.
Free registration for tackle and league tag competitions thanks to the Canterbury Leagues Club, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs & the Junior Bulldogs.
Registration also includes a playing uniform and a Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 2025 membership
Yep a very positive thing to do, the question was around membership totals and how they are skewed by freebies or 'at negative cost' to the club. I have a Storm interstate membership that costs the club money to have me as a member.Awesome! This is a non-ticketed membership!!
These programs will make help make these kids Bulldog supporters and potential future paying full members!
After over a decade tracking these numbers, the value in doing so has diminished greatly.Side note, but why do only some clubs release membership figures?

The NRL stopped mandating central reporting of membership figures around the start of COVID, and no longer publish a final table of all clubs in their Annual Report. Consequently, as the years have passed many teams have dropped off reporting regularly or reporting any figure at all, to the point where the value in tracking figures was limited.
We did make attempts to contact clubs who weren't publishing anything/hadn't updated in a long time and while it did nudge some of them to update, the needle hasn't really moved.
It's our understanding that @The_Wookie (footyindustryau on Twitter/Bluesky) continues to track these figures year on year and he posts in this thread/on this forum regularly.
