Seems to me that memberships are pushed more than ever by my local clubs anyway. I get bombarded by membership ads and emails from the Broncos, Dolphins and Titans. I'm a member of the first two but never been a Titans member.

Just because publishing the numbers aren't a priority anymore, doesn't mean the clubs aren't actively pushing it.

The NRL really should start advertising in Nov memberships as xmas presents and the like. That would mean clubs would need to pull there fingers out and get packages ready. But starting the push then with different price points would help memberships and could be included as contra advertising on channel 9/kayo.

I'm not sure what happens in Sydney but that definitely already happens with the SEQ teams

It would be awesome wouldnt it. Even I missed this on the broncos reports - its in the summaries right at the start. Oddly enough the total of the two is still less than total memberships for the club. No idea why.
I have two memberships under my name so I can go with different mates and the Mrs sometimes. They might distinguish between number of ticketed members and number of ticketed memberships sold. In the former I'd be counted once, in the latter, I'd be counted twice.

Maybe something to do with life members and/or non-revenue members perhaps.

This shows exactly why the Giants / Swans sponsorship argument is bullshit. It's more to do with the size of the AFL than the club itself. No one can sit there with a straight face and say Lions are bigger than Broncos and no one should be sitting there with a straight face saying Swans are bigger than the Doggies

South Sydney providing a straight membership revenue figure allows us to do a member/revenue calc. These are decent numbers

I renew my Storm membership as soon as they go on sale. I give my sister her membership for Christmas. Been a Storm member since 98.

Canberra appears to have reported a record number of members for 2025, breaking its 2024 mark. 5 other clubs have broken records this season including Cronulla, Manly, Newcastle and Canterbury. The other fascinating figure is Melbournes. They are getting very close to the figure they achieved during COVID when they did a 2 for 1 membership deal

What I take from this graph is that membership culture is still very much an AFL/Melbourne thing, but we are slowly starting to adopt it which is positive for the future of the sport. It's more income for the clubs at the end of the day.

In saying all that the Broncos numbers are impressive.

I was a Storm member from the beginning '98 cos I used to be an AFL member for my team but I couldn't follow BrisbaneLions when we merged..I was surprised that NRL wasn't membership driven.

Perth bears board meet shortly, hopefully they sign off on a foundation membership! Tassie devils got theirs out within a week of announcement.
