Random query but would people find it helpful if the NRL made public the weekly jersey allocations?

There is already a document circulated to the clubs every week with those allocations, but these are not made public at this stage - which could change if there's enough public interest.

I think greater oversight & transparency - like making jersey allocations public early on - can only be a good thing.

It means the fans that go to games can dress according to that the team's uniform that week if they wish, for a start.

It's all part of the fan engagement thing, right?

I used to think this but I take a more "full kit" view now - that includes shorts and socks etc. When paired with shorts matching the trim it provides a pretty decent difference in contrast.

The problem comes when they wear the black piping home jersey with black shorts against clubs with naturally dark kits themselves. No idea how to fix that.

You raise a good point about the dark Souths kit being worn against other teams in dark kits, but given the amount of trim on Souths Jerseys has reduced A LOT, the "full kit" approach you mention kinda focuses on the shorts now.

Souths get away with it because there's few teams that their jersey REALLY clashes with - predominantly the Raiders, and that's only an issue when they're playing in Canberra.

BUT if we get more teams featuring red and/or green from the upcoming expansion then the need for a genuine & distinct Souths away (not just a 3rd/alternate that's worn maybe once a year in Canberra) will be more pressing.

I wish they would announce the full season jersey/kit schedule before the season starts the same as the NFL's uniform schedule. Problem is all those random one off jerseys make it hard to create a graphic for team social media announcements of said schedule. But they could still do it in text form or a combination of their regular jerseys graphics and text for ANZAC, Indigenous etc rounds.

I only bought this jersey for no other reason than we won the comp in it. It’s still the only Roosters away jersey I own.

Roosters tried that putrid cut off Vee design back in 09 I think. they also tried it with the home and pretty sure it had backlash so they sewed patches on the shoulders halfway thru the season
