Nothing wrong with that if it’s based on the increase in jersey salesOne thing to consider regarding player names on club jerseys.
If it was implemented, how long do you think it would be before the RLPA then put in a claim for a slice of the jersey revenues? If I have heard correctly, in many of the US sports which do it, players get a slice of all jersey sale revenues as it has been standard clause in respective CBAs for decades.

Depends what the nrl and players agree in the cbaI doubt it would be. As I said in the US, especially in the NBA, players get a fixed percentage of all jersey sales, not just of an "increase" in sales. The players get a flat 50% of all jersey sales. If it was introduced in the NRL, the players would want the same.
Additionally, all the money going top the players from these types of revenues in the US are evenly split between all NBA players, regardless of which has the greatest jersey sales, and those which have the least.
For starters - fairly rare occurence... but even then, it happens world-over in all various leagues. Not sure it's a huge concern. What happens when you buy a jersey with your favourite players name on it, only too sign a mid year contract for a new club?
Unless your favourite player is Matt Lodge you shouldnt have a worry. What happens when you buy a jersey with your favourite players name on it, only too sign a mid year contract for a new club?
