Vossy and Blocker seem amazed that the Sharks first choice squad is playing well against the Raiders NSW cup B team.

Sharks looked pretty impressive. Took them about 20 minutes to get going and judging by their young middles their window is wide open.
Quite hard to get a read on Canberra given their Flegg and NSW cup players spent the most time on the field, but when their 1sts were on they looked in control.

It never fails to amaze me on how much the footy fan overrates a trial. Players who are playing in these trials have one main real objective....to get some miles and intensity in the legs and lungs that no training you can do can quite replicate. A side is never as bad or as good as what they look....too many variables to make an accurate prediction. You can get some odd clues on player progression but you can very rarely tell how a side will play together.

The only prediction I made last year was that Saints would challenge for the 8 due to a couple of first half performances from their pack which were totally at odds with how they played under Griffin.
