Mate, I already consider you a de facto member of our family.
Thanks.

You’re a proud club for many reasons and a lot your constant critics simply can’t get their heads around it.

Just little nuances such as Ron Coote signing for the enemy about 50 or 60 years ago. Still eats away and remains unforgiven. It doesn’t matter if he’s a hall of famer, immortal or whatever. Can’t be resolved.

Thanks mate. As for those that hate us, it's the same as every other sporting league around the world. The fans of all the other clubs don't like whoever has won the most Premierships, titles, cups etc. They wish they could say their club was #1 in that regard. I actually see it as a compliment.

Tradition and the handing down of shared club values over time. Other clubs don’t have the rich tapestry of it to rely on and most premierships is assailed.

There’s many but a couple that come to mind:

A strong association with indigenous people and back in the 2000s one of the early adopters of bulk Pacific Islanders.

Souths said it would select on footy attributes not racial characteristics.

Now it’s par for the course.

As it should be.

A lot of footy fans don’t know of this.

My friends such as @blue bags we see this sunlit shadow world.

And are both amazed that SGI have had their premierships stolen.

Just in passing, I was still wondering whether or not this Vegas thing is worth doing and how long it will go on for.

I remember when it was originally suggested, the main idea behind it seemed to be to get a chunk of the US gambling dollar.

Looking at sports betting, we are interested in capturing a slice of the $11b plunder on US sports betting:

And we know the NRL has to licence gambling operators here and has strict rules.

Just a rough guide, we spend about $600m in betting on sports here

Source:

So the US market is about 22 times larger.

It was interesting and something I didn’t know, about half of Aussie gamblers are problem gamblers. I thought it would be a lot less.

I wonder what the return on investment is for the NRL?

I can’t see it as good for clubs and coaches in particular. I think players could benefit by taking in what’s overseas, but I think they are in lockdown of sorts.

Im not sure what the panel here thinks if anyone has a view.

I think you lost the game last year.

It can’t be ideal preparation for a coach.
