Yeah but that’s probable. We are not looking likely to be in a position where a turn of form and big run post Origin will be enough.
Depends on injuries

Cleary is capable of anything if he’s not injured

Talagi was decent last week to take the pressure off

Panthers look really slow and unmotivated in attack rn

But yeh maybe salary cap had to kick in eventually

Knights got the jump and Penrith never recovered. In seasons past they find a way to get momentum back, but this time it waa never going to happen.
It would have been bad for the integrity of the comp if a team with so many outs was able to win against pretty much a full strength side.
Maybe this win will invigorate the Knights season and has answered some questions for Ivan.

Did the Knights have props/centres playing second row/lock because every back rower in the club (except for the bloke who made his debut) was either injured, suspended or playing Origin? This tends to leave holes which in the main is what Newy ran through in the first quarter of the game. That's all it took them to get the points they needed.

Missing the 2 starting props, 3/5 of the backline and losing 2 forwards to injury in the first half isn’t exactly full strength.

Agreed on your general point though.
