No interest in this game so far from the forum.

All I will say is not only have the Raiders been gifted the softest draw this season but they now come up against the Warriors who unfortunately are without their two starting props in Barnett and JFH.

Warriors still the favourites in the bookies eyes because it’s at NZ from what I can gather but I think the Raiders edge it here.

That’s two huge outs for the Warriors.

Further to my point the Raiders only play two teams currently in the top 8 in the run home after this game.

Souths 7th & Manly 6th.

Softest draw ever in the NRL.

And both our 2nd rowers are out so that evens it up.

Like I said for me Canberra win this with Warriors two props out.

Good to see you're tipping us. But to me, we beat them with those 2 and they're not that much of a factor. Tapine absolutely smashed Barnett.

Wahs will be tough at home though. Probably our toughest test of the season.

I don't like to be a pessimist because my team has given me so much to be optimistic about this season....but I feel like it's Raiders by 10-20 tonight and I find it a bit nuts they're paying $2 to wins. No Barnett, who is our spiritual leader. Done a lot of travel recently, this is our first game at Mt Smart since over a month ago. And it's so hard to win each week in the NRL, the mental energy that goes into that and the fact we've had a run of real tight finishes.

I just think our energy might slip and let a Raiders with plenty of points in them run a bit rampant.

We thrashed them with both playing in round 1. How much difference do you think they would make?

We've only lost one other game since round 1, and 4 of the last 5 were without JFH.

Big ask to also fill Barnetts boots, but this is a battle hardened bunch, learnt to win ugly this year (Melbourne loss was also ugly, but then JFH also went off injured inside the first 10 min that day, so who knows what his influence could've been that day).

Whatever the result, this will be another heart attack for the Warriors, win lose or draw 🤣😬

It's going to be a tough game. It's a difficult road trip for any team.

Back in 1989 Balmain signed English league star Andy Currier to help him win a premiership. But he decided his defence needed some work so he sentenced him to hours of defence practice in the sandpit with noted defender Mick Pobjie. The Raiders need to do the same with Crisp and Timoko. Maybe someone like Cement Gillespie. Show them how to use their legs and shoulders and leave the ground when defending. An easy fix. Improve Weekes under the high ball and they will challenge for the comp this year.

It’s great for the NRL to have a competitive Warriors team. Not sure of the buzz in NZ at the moment with the Warriors but I get the feeling this match could have sold out 2 or 3 times over. Imagine a NZ team in the North and South Islands with expansion. Potentially a great rivalry. New Zealand will always be a union stronghold but the NRL could make significant inroads.

Websterball seems be slowly evolving in terms of attack . Maybe that’s just because of Metcalf’s hot streak. The Warriors are probably still a couple of good outside backs short of winning the comp. There must be a few Marky Marks or Will Wabricks floating around the union system that could make the jump to league.

In the past this was the sort of match the Warriors would stink it up in. A few away wins before returning home to an adoring crowd with the pressure of expectation. But this side seems to be made of sterner stuff. Well at least I think it is. But missing their 2 forward leaders leaves a big question mark .

I respect the Raiders.

We owe them one.

They are walking into a real cauldron tonight. Credit where it is due if they go on with it in New Zealand.

The two best forwards missing for the Warriors is not the kind of thing that they use for an excuse under Webster. It will be a hard game. I do not see the Raiders taking this one lightly. Both teams are playing for top four and know it.

Genuine death match.
