Scoring with a penalty attached is the definition of an 8 point try

I think the technical wording of the rule is actually an act of foul play though?

I don't disagree, I just don't know that the NRL sees the wording as including that sort of mid air tackle as "foul play". It's more like being offside. I'd have no problems if they did though.

Well I'm going off SOO where the discussion was if it was a "penalty try or a sin bin", they went sin bin because they weren't sure 100% sure if Coates would have scored.
In that act, this one was a penalty try.

But a penalty try is only if the foul play prevents a try. It probably should be an 8 point try if they're serious, but they aren't it'll be fine tomorrow or Sunday when someone from Penrith or Brisbane prevents a try by doing it
