I give souths every chance, they are maximising what they have despite a torrid injury toll. If the dolphins don't score early and often they seem to wilt.

If Campbell Graham and Cody Walker return, it'll be the first time we've been able to name our first choice backline since mid 2023.

If Mamouzelos also returns, then it's only really Cam Murray, Brandon Smith and Jye Gray missing from our first-choice 17.

We've just played the top 4 in 4 consecutive weeks, are sitting 2nd last but only 1 win behind 5th.

The time for excuses is over. Either Souths pull out their fingers and string some wins together or it's another bottom 4 season and we're in an enormous hole.

The fightback starts here. Souths need to win 7 of their last 9 games to make the 8 in my opinion (due to their poor points diff).

Poor starts have hurt last 2 weeks. Can't afford to let Herbie and Katoa run riot.

Souths to win this!

Has to start now for Souths. They've been pretty disappointing this year.

Dolphins starting their slide? They are the most exciting team to watch in the competition but they have a very thin squad. Saifiti and Gilbert (As well as Flegler) is a sizeable hole in their forward pack. Bostock now gone too.

Can't blame poor marker defence on injuries. Too many soft tries let in during games. Have played really well in patches but then been soft as butter at other times and just undone all the hard work. Finals sides don't do that anywhere near as much.

Need to find an 80 minute performance and tighten up around the marker defence especially.

Finally, we've named our first choice backline for the first time since 2022... or maybe 2023. First game in 40 attempts that we've been able to name Latrell, AJ, Wighton and Campbell Graham together in the same team!

We named them a couple of weeks ago but they didn't all manage to run out at kick-off. So. we'll have to wait and see if they can all survive intact until kick-off on Saturday evening before ticking this one off.

Campbell's going to need to be at 100% to try to keep Herbie at bay but I'll back him (pun unintended).
