Most fans think Asomua is a better bet- without crying too much because both have strengths and weaknesses. We could also play Sisagi at centre, Kris wing and Noah Martin at edge which gets more of our talent on the park and doesn't bring up any 4th choice potatoes. Noah Martin will be a 100+ game FGer, maybe even rep.

It's more for who we recruit coming in- Hoppa was our 3rd choice but has his own mobility issues already and now has a 3rd ACL= he's cooked.

Even before the season fans identified winger/centre backup as the thinnest squad issue. So I'd be more annoyed if now Rick doesn't recruit a squad level outside back, even though we clearly need one, because he'd feel like he's recruiting over Jed. It would be pure nepo behaviour so we'll see.

Yeah I don't disagree, but I guess all I'm really saying is you still need that 4th string winger and then do your best not to use them. But at the same time you've gotta save dollars somewhere, and there's not too many sides with spots 25-30 filled with much more than cup players. From the outside I think Clifford is a genuine first grade half, albeit not in the top tiers of course. So to that example if he's your backup half and Jed Stuart is your 4th string winger, is that better or worse than having say Daejarn Asi as your backup half and a 25% better winger instead?

Is Hoppa off contract? Might be a Dunster situation for a year or two if not

We definitely need better depth in the outside backs, Hoppa and Jed as our next best is pretty diabolical
But you're right, we're pretty deep at middle, edge, hooker, and fullback, the club is trying to lure a somewhat experienced half to be our back up, so that's gonna be strong too

You gotta take a hit somewhere and taking a hit in positons like centre/wing where you can sort of find decent options anywhere isnt a bad way to go about it... would be great if we had young kids we liked ready to have a crack but our best are probably 1-2 years away.

Honestly a Haze Dunster type signing would be really good for us in 2026.

Hoppa is off contract but Ricky has said the club will offer him something- a little bit unclear if that will be top 30 or not.

Well we did but the media won’t give f**k about one of the lower teams being screwed over by the officials. We’ll get an apology from the NRL but there will be no consequences for those responsible.
If you wanted proof that the media don’t care about the lower teams being screwed over, NRL 360 just discussed the Raiders v Dragons game and not one mention of the disgraceful decision.
