Well that was a total cluster*f**k of a performance from the Roosters. Didn’t turn up for the grind but the Sharks did. Apart from Whyte who was superb, their forwards went missing. They really missed the punch of Wong.Their attack was way out of sync and way too flat. They were always under pressure even when they were attacking.
Their middle red zone defence is unusually vulnerable to attackers cutting back in behind the ptb as Burton and Xerri showed a few weeks ago. Hesitation and sub optimal lateral movement from some defenders. The coach was trying to sub a few of those middles in the 2nd half but didn’t get a break in play…until those middles stuffed up and the Sharks scored.
Despite generally playing poorly , they somehow got to 18-20 and were attacking and looking dangerous. Teddy had the ball on the last and just needed to roll the ball in goal with a grubber but he just got tackled with the ball. That was their chance and it wasn’t iced. A massive dent to their top 8 aspirations.
