How NRL of the NRL to schedule one of the best rivalry games in a neutral venue almost 4000km away from both teams fanbases.

The two flat track bullies of the NRL. Havent the Sharks had a bit of a hold on Manly over the last couple of years? Think Sharks which is bad news for Manly, if they beat you youre not a Top 8 side.

Cronulla by 12.

This fixture is totally retarted.. 1) why are these teams play the Steve Rogers Memorial Trophy and 2) why is it in WA?

1) What has Sludge got to do with Manly? Do they love him because he played in 3 grand finals against them, kicking 6 from 11 goals, scoring no tries and claiming no wins??

2) I'm guessing it is a Sharks "financial decision" to play it in WA... great culture being cultivated, but I guess most Sharks fans wouldn’t even know who Steve rogers is anyway. Did the club reduce the cost of ticketed membership or do they want their players and fans to experience what it's like to play at a fantastic stadium?

Manly 28-24.

I think the extra travel and flying will extend DCE's neck even further causing an unfair advantage as he sees more attacking options, however Cronulla will get back on track and win by 4.

Did you two read my thread in the Sharks forum? I'm guessing one of you did haha.

Yep, total shytefest.
The Sharks agreed to the Perth gig, the NRL chose the opponent, that's where the feck up is.

To answer:
1- When Sludge died Manly offered this commemoration , your team, the Dargons, offered nothing, which was highly disrespectful considering he played for both clubs.
Shows he had more respect from Manly than "the abomination".

2- The Sharks have been playing two "home" games a season away from Shark Park for numerous years. Always one at Magic Round and they have had their Coffs gig which has now ended. Perth was offered up to them and they took it to replace Coffs. We have had 10 home games at the one ground for a fair while now, it's no different. 10 home games at our traditional ground, not spread by halves like The Abomination does.

"but I guess most Sharks fans wouldn’t even know who Steve rogers is anyway."

You're trying way too hard to be funny, and its just plain disrespectful.
From 7 weeks ago, the Sharks ceremony for their Immortals, just so you can see how recent he was celebrated, all his kids on stage with Vossy:

I didn't read your post in the Sharks forum. I just found the fixture strange considering the Sharks already did Vegas and who the opponent was for the Perth game. If both teams are on it'll to be a great spectacle though.

Manly is strengthened by the loss of Waddell but weakened by the inclusion of Aloiai. Manly fans will be hoping that DCE doesn’t pack the dinner suit that he played in last week against the Storm. The Sharks have plenty of areas to target. Sipley is vulnerable with his slow lateral movements. Garrick is a poor defensive centre . Saab has the Dom Young habit of jamming in automatically and giving his opposite winger a saloon passage to the try line.

If Saab plays, Trindall and Mulitalo will have a day out down Manly’s right side. Pencil in Mulitalo for 2 or 3 tries. But I don’t think Saab is fit. I expect Talau to come in to replace Saab on the wing. What should happen is Talau to right centre and Garrick to the wing where he belongs . Garrick is a top class winger but Seibold seems obsessed with playing him at centre.

Lachlan Croker is finally back after a long absence and will probably take Simpkin’s place on the bench. He’s the best defensive hooker in the club but his dummy half service can be a bit tardy. Talakai seems to save his best for Manly(Morgan Harper agrees) and AFB will have extra motivation against one of his old clubs.

The coach will have Manly primed to traverse peakless mountains but this looks like Mount Everest. The Sharks have too much forward power and will wear Manly down. Hopefully Gee loses the pea from his whistle and lets the viewers enjoy the contest. The Sharks by 10.

1- Typical of Sharks to jump at first or only option, but regardless, it's probably more appropriate we contest the Monty Porter Memorial Cup as a player who contributed more to both clubs.

2- Why did the Sharks simply accept Perth and give up any say in the opponent?

Good to see Donny up there! Haven't crossed paths on or off the field with him since the late 90s. Not being disrespectful and the little club celebration doesn't change my mind. Same for most clubs fans.. generational shift and more recent heroes.

Go give Flo a kiss (you can probably give her a fondle at knee level these days) and cheer up big boy.

Fair points. I kind of agree.

Again, I agree.

Yeah I get it, Sludge will always be No.1 in my mind and it irks me no end that the club didn't put up a waiver to the NRL about who they should not play in Perth. The NRL does have the capability to make some games between certain teams steadfast in the draw.

Yeah I luvs her! Sorry about that. I am actually a bit upset about this particular game being over there.
At least on a good note it shows myself that I can still find some passion for my team sometimes. Nothing too great this year though besides one half of footy against Souths.

NRL kicks a few own goals.. should have been a no brainer here to have played an interstate team, or just not Manly. Come to think of it, I'm shocked they didn't make the Dragons play you in a local derby over there!

Good to see Donny might have quietened a few demons through music.

Never let the passion die.. our teams make it bloody hard sometimes. I deserved a fired up reply for a smart arse post. Good shit. Oh and you have us twice, so congrats.

Anyway, back to Sharks v Manly..
