I think Hunt as a 9 or a 14 would be great for 1yr, that could really suit a club (such as the roosters with 2xacl injuries), but we want something in valuable in return.. and I dont think that transaction exists currently.
He already has one year for 2025. He won't go anywhere unless it is for 2026 too.

My concern at this point is whether he will bother to put in for us in 2025.

I actually think he would consider it.. Flanno doesnt want him there.. he knows that.. I think a year at the rorters would be refreshing for him.

But I just dont think Flanno is going to take any old chump in return.
I think it will be the Dolphins who pick up Hunt. But who will we get in return? That is the problem.

HUnt asked to test the market

that means the onus is on him to make a deal happen

We are in a strong position except for recruiting ie if I am Leo Thompson and i see a a team without a half...........and a average 5/8...........and a pack that is ok at best.........hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Had this thought today: Maybe, just maybe there’s a chance that hunt was the reason we couldn’t attract players. I’m sure there’s talk through the NRL player group that he’s an absolute twat. Or maybe they see how much he demands the ball and thought they couldn’t shine with a ball hog that can only run and not ball play?

Averillo fits a similar mould to Talagi and Gutho in covering 1/3/6, I suppose he could play 6 outside KFlan @7..

But I think Flanno will want a meathead prop or a legit 6or7 for his trade.. maybe Averillo fits under the latter..

End of the day though, he may decide that something is better than nothing..

So, is it 4 or 5 spots we have available?

In any case, I think: (will or have already)
1. Gutho - subject to medical
2. Doueihi

Potentially signed
1. Lodge

On the cards:
1. Atkinson
2. May

I don't think we are in for Pezet. He'll go to Newcastle. We would have to shred a player or 2 to also include JAC, but I feel he isn't a priority.

I'd love to see Atkinson as the Dragons new long term half. He and Liddle would make up part A of my spine. Thoughts?

Liddle just turned 26 y.o. He is going to be with us for years to come. Cook is with us only until end 2026. So Atkinson and Liddle are in the long term spine.

That Cook might play in the halves this year is not a crazy longshot.

Only drawback there Jubes is Cook hasn't got the kicking game to play in the halves imo.
