There are plenty of players fighting for wing spot now so Rava really needs to step up to get a spot. He won't be guaranteed a FG spot like the previous coaches no matter how his form is going. Rava can certainly find the line, I am just worried about his hands and defence which is something I am sure Flanno will be working on.

I am really surprised no English clubs are in for him or Blake Lawrie. Both would be perfect for the ESL. They both have a heap of NRL games experience. I have seen players signed by ESL clubs on big money that have only played a handful from the bench. Surely Saints can pay for some of their freight.

They would suit the UK but maybe they don't want to go. And Blake looks a lot fitter atm so maybe he plans to fight his way back into the pack.

Nothing wrong with that. If Blake has a great season that would be awesome as he is a junior. Same with Rava, I feel for the guy because he was at his peak and I blame the NRL for banning him all these times for great hits which other players got away with especially Olam at the Storm. That has really destroyed his confidence when it comes to defence.
Absolutely. Rava was hitting legally and making guys look twice. So they rubbed him out. But they celebrated Steve Matai when he did the same.

I remember Justin Olam on one footy show can't remember which one but got hit or tackle of the week and it was no different to what Rava was suspended 4 weeks for the weekend before. It was a joke. I think it was a tackle Rava did on Josh Morris. He stayed down for ages and the bunker intervened and ended up sending Rava off.
Yes, those lengthy suspensions would have had a big bearing on Rava's confidence in defence. I suspect he didn't understand why he was suspended in some cases. He might have attacked the grog a fair bit during his lay offs and he became less fit and put on weight and had no real purpose. These things can happen. He and Sivo, who was the guys scoring at will at many games for the Eels just not wanted, in a way like Rava. Sivo though is a bit more "worldly" and happy to spend the next 3 years playing for Leeds in the Super League.

I'm hoping Rava will regain his confidence and have a good year in reserves and maybe a couple of games in first grade subject to injuries etc. and then he might get asked to go and join a Super League Club in 2026.

Both players should move on given that they are facing a long stint in reserve grade. Their price will plumit and Rava may well be put in the reserve grad forward pack.

Thought I'd add this in, Rava looks fit as I've ever seen him and I was thinking with Gutho leading us around, he knew how to unlock Maiko sivo, if Flanno gets Ravas head right he could be an absolute weapon next year. Season can't come quick enough
Rava is a beast who opposition players hate playing against.
unfortunately he was injured last year just like Blocker
Bloker has recovered and will be as good as 2023
Will be one of our best next year despite all the shit people in here put on him
Αs for Rava he has to play through his injury which will be hard but he is a champion and will do it
Its also why trying to off load him has been difficult
Anyway I tip he will still get one wing spot and Sloan the other
Speed on one wing and power on the other

I'm sure Flanno is keeping a good eye on Lawrie and Ravalawa but I have the feeling that something is not right with these two.

For some games maybe Ravalawa off the bench could be a positive move.

What was Ravas injury?
They definitely used to hate getting hit by him, he was never the same though after those suspensions he copped for perfectly legal tackles.

Not sure i want to surrender a bench spot for a winger. if he proves his worth in reserves then he can force his way back into NRL. But he played in Reserves this year and didn’t do much if I remember corrctly

IMO Rava is not a first grade winger until he improves his defence. Yes he can hit hard but it is hit & miss & is found out too many times coming in & leaving his winger unmarked. We have better options than him at the moment.
