Dragons extend Kyle Flanagan for two years

The Dragons are pleased to announce the re-signing of Kyle Flanagan through to the end of the 2027 season.

Good signing for squad composition, can fill in a few spots. It should be relatively cheap deal for us too.

Yeh after the club already had put out a media statement about state of all injuries. But if you missed Yes that was one bit of news. But the rest did not give us any more real insight
Just a beef I have had with our media content for years and access for members has been below many other clubs

As a side note, in that video, Flanno seems very keen on seeing what Lawson can do. I am too.

I still hold hope that we sign Leo Thompson on a three year deal and possibly Lodge on a two year deal.

This is better. Kyle's re-signing on this thread instead of all of the posts in the Atkinson thread.

I am OK with Kyle being re-signed. Just like his Dad, I feel confident that he will be of benefit to the squad. There is genuinely a lot of competition for spots in the halves, hooker and #14 utility roles in the next couple of years and that helps with our chances of climbing up the ladder in my opinion.

I still cant see where Lawson fits into the dragons roster, he is not in the top 30 nor is he in the Development squad?

He has only recently arrived back in Australia from his commitments with the Australian 7s rugby union team.
Needs to under go a full assessment fitness wise etc.
Still one spot available in our Development list.

I don't think they are eligible for first grade unless a top 30 spot opens up during the year and they get promoted

Thanks for the info, as it stands there is only 1 spot left in the top 30 and if Flanagan is still looking to fill this spot with a prop then Lawson little hope of playing first grade in 2025

Lawrie or Rava being picked up by another NRL or superleague club would help, I reckon Rava would kill it in england

Is Viliami Fifita the forgotten man ? A lot of talk about our forwards & the need for another prop, he joined us with big wraps & Flanno obviously sees something in him. He had a number of injuries last year IF he has a big off season he could be a smokey for us next year. He has to have a big year otherwise i think he will be moved on in 2026.

I flicked through the per season training photos up on the clubs website. I stopped and went back to a powerful looking young bloke sprinting hard and muscled to the hilt. Who is that. Halangahu. I think I have read about him as being very promising.

Anyone seen him play?
