The same data is used by the Herald without the explanatory notes.

Yes but you can't average out numbers from 9 rounds across 27 to get a number.

You need the figures for either the whole season or every few weeks to get the number

Especially as the Warriors form fell away big time at the back end of the year

Really isn't that hard.... for anyone with half a brain

Looking over the next 10 to 20 years

In Australia we have

Nrl 180 million
Afl 144 million

Nrl will add Perth bears whilst afl adds Tasmania. Both will add a similar small amount of new viewers maybe 2 million each (maybe bears in Sydney’s could be another 2 million)

Then

Nz currently 13.7 million and growing at ten percent. Second nz side should see that grow to 20 million

Afl zero

PNG

Once the team comes in aggregate weekly ratings should be around 2 to 4 million a week. So anywhere from 45 to 100 million more viewers

Afl zero

Pacific cup and all stars

Currently 8 million

Vs

Afl ??? Is the game against Fremantle even going to continue ?

Nrl could be looking at 300 million in cumulative ratings

Can’t see afl getting to 180 million tops over a decade or two

Pvl has set up rugby league for decades of growth leaving all the local sporting codes in their wake

For comparison on sky games get 80k to 150k mostly

Six nations got 1.7 million so there’s potential there for super league on bbc

Unfortunately in England, SL doesn't have the same broad appeal as international sport does, particulary in the South.

Whats interesting re SL is that despite getting around 1/2 of Australian RL audience it can only get 1/10 the media rights value NRL gets. Soccer sucks up all the media spend it seems.
