My opinion is it’s not reach but average but wookie will have a meltdown if I say that

If anything 1.59 million for nine rounds of games where some games on fta get 450k to 500k is still way too low

Do the maths yourself. It’s an average of 170k per round for eight games

Literally 20k a game average and people are saying that’s not an average figure
Only logical thing I can think is the 1.59mill is avg and the warriors numbers are reach. there is no way 9 rounds got 1.59mill and the rest got 12mill. Seems they are cherry picking avg and reach numbers to look good.

Maybe but they combined averages figures from Australia with reach figures for nz ?

Plus pacific cup finals origins and all stars ?

13.7 million is around 570k a round in total including origins finals and pacific cup which to me is what I think it should be

The Vegas game was reported as over 500k in nz which was combined with the average for Australia

So 500k on fta seems to be an average figure

More interest in nrl in melbin than afl in Queensland.

That seems really good for the NRL. Maybe I’m misremembering but I didn’t think we cracked 700K on FTA too often anymore.

If my math is correct afl fans are only tuning in for 36% of the game or 77 minutes out of 210 compared to nrl 42% of game or 61 minutes out of 145. Nrl fans are engaged 17% more per broadcast than afl fans *based on last nights game

63 minutes per viewer for the afl last night to 66 minutes per viewer for the nrl . Was the afl over at half time or is the game to long to hold their attention for a 3rd of the game

Would I be right in thinking that BVOD is 9now/7+?

What's the theory with the NRL seemingly having a consistently higher share in that department? Is it 9 just doing a better job or perhaps a reflection of different demographics. Does feel like the NRL are doing better with younger audiences (eg much stronger on socials).

Interesting take, might be because the fumbles on 7+ is in its` first year and haven`t much cross-over yet. I`m not sure whether 9 has different commentators on 9now but if so it may be a reflection of fans avoiding the god-awful mundane commentary of A. Johns. I know as soon as I hear his voice I`m straight over to Kayo.

Length of AFL games and how late the games finish is clearly an issue. Even NRL fans I know complain about the games finishing too late. That’s the double edged sword, the longer games allow them to get more advertising spend but impacts their ability to maintain average viewership (and limits the amount of timeslots without overlap).

Vic.tards now pushing viewer hours, after last year pushing reach, I wonder what straw they will grasp next?

This one has been quietly simmering away in the background for at least a decade. Its not a new thing. - and notable that its a primary stat trotted out by streamers.

Neither was reach and then Oztam decided to make it a primary stat

Also notable that from time to time length of rugby league games and the advertising breaks contained therein is cited as a factor
