Would I be right in thinking that BVOD is 9now/7+?

Yes

What's the theory with the NRL seemingly having a consistently higher share in that department? Is it 9 just doing a better job or perhaps a reflection of different demographics. Does feel like the NRL are doing better with younger audiences (eg much stronger on socials).

The AFL literally started on 7plus two weeks ago. Its been on Nine for several years

Length of AFL games and how late the games finish is clearly an issue. Even NRL fans I know complain about the games finishing too late. That’s the double edged sword, the longer games allow them to get more advertising spend but impacts their ability to maintain average viewership (and limits the amount of timeslots without overlap).

That is the other side to it, I guess the theory is if the audience is big enough early in the game than it keeps a decent ave. All boards care about Is $

This one has been quietly simmering away in the background for at least a decade. Its not a new thing. - and notable that its a primary stat trotted out by streamers.

Neither was reach and then Oztam decided to make it a primary stat

Also notable that from time to time length of rugby league games and the advertising breaks contained therein is cited as a factor

Advertising has been sold like that for years. I thought it was common knowledge, I guess not

I’m well aware they’ve been available for a long time and yet they’ve suddenly risen to prominence amongst desperate afl fans. I wonder why?

Kayo reported Sept last year that 5billion minutes of NRL was watched last year.

That might hit 75% with 7+ now stealing market share.

On the flip side to watch AFL on Sat you need to have Kayo/Fox

It is a shame Kayo aren't reporting ratings outside of these press releases at certain points, I guess have to wait until after the season to see where that sits

It`s only for 8 weeks and even then you can stream them on delay, so Kayo won`t get a large or permanent bump from this new temporary arrangement. But hey yeah you go ahead and find a way that it`ll work out good for the fumbles, that`s your speciality.

It’s funny when the mask slips off

Imagine Foxtel loses league

60 percent of their viewing minutes disappears

40 percent across cricket afl golf etc it’s really just a joke

Pvl should be getting his back checked from having to carry Foxsports on his own

f**k you are a fool. Yes or no

more games on Kayo = more of an audience on Kayo?

If RL still gets 5 billion minutes watched and the other side of the business grows isn't a bad thing.

RL needs TV audiences to grow to get more money

You`re blinded by your desire to find a negative (must be living in Penrith, f**k that`d depress me), it`s only for 8 weeks and even then the games can still be streamed on 7+ on delay. Kayo won`t get the big bump you`re inferring.
Any extra views gained by the EIGHT weeks will most likely be lost during the other 18 rounds where 7+ will steal audience off Kayo.

Blinded by what?

So if RL grows to being watched by 5.1b but that is only 57% of Kayo's share not the 59% that is good thing for RL.

more profitable Fox is. The less changes DaZN will make and that is great for NRL as they aren't locked in long term

7+ will take from the 7 audience. No one is getting Kayo but watching FTA. 9 Now has gone up but Kayo numbers continues to grow

It was funny a while back he actually admitted to it then a few days later pretended he never said it

I always thought it was weird how hard he shilled for afl

Yet you haven't produced the post.

Only 1 of us here has been to AFL games
