3.8 million is my guess or more. Unlike game 1 it was always in doubt. And the WA numbers will be very good.
For comparison sake:

State of Origin I 2024 - 3.44 Million
State of Origin 2 2024 - 3.26 Million
State of Origin 3 2024 - 3.65 Million

State of Origin 1 2025 - 3.755 Million
-------------------------------------------
Given the expectation going into game 2, was a swept series, I think anything above 3.4 Million we should be happy with. 3.6M+ would be incredible. 3.8M+ would be out of this world and show that Origin is somehow on another growth phase.

From the increase in Game 1 this year, and the seeming buy in from WA and other markets so far this year. Hoping we can see 4M+ in game 3 - as long as it's a close contest.

I've watched some amazing origins, but last nights game was beyond amazing, stick that up your AFL crap hahahaha.
The decider ratings is going to be so humongous that the network won't be able to handle it and probably will have a melt down.😂

Think origin can go back to over 4 million a game down the track with a Perth nrl team and the overall growth in fta audiences

Unlike our main rivals whose ratings are sinking, our are up around nine percent

State of Origin Game 2 was the No. 1 program of the night in:

Sydney - Total TV Audience of 1.042 million
Melbourne - Total TV Audience of 308,000
Brisbane - Total TV Audience of 888,000
Perth - Total TV Audience of 190,000

State of Origin Game 2 was the No. 2 program of the night in:

Adelaide - Total TV Audience of 96,000

Perths Origin rating of 190,000 is almost certainly a record for Origin, and Brisbanes 888,000 is the highest I can see going back to 2013. In Both cases, certainly the highest ratings since VOZ began.

Note: since I was asked on twitter – for comparison

The Western Derby rated 156k earlier in the year. standard AFL games rated around the 50k-100k mark, depending on time and teams playing. 2024 AFL Grand Final 344k (2024 NRL Grand Final 131k).

MASSIVE Perth ratings.

Difference between Game 1 and 2
Sydney: -31k
Melbourne: -8k

Brisbane: +45k
Adelaide: +4k
Perth: +22k
- on an already record rating

The AFL Frand Final rated 344,000 in Perth last year for comparison.

57k crowd (80% locals) and 190k on TV - The West Australian are going to look more and more irrelevant if they keep putting out articles about no one caring about Rugby League in WA.
