2025 Wooden Spoon Champions

It's been relatively easy to predict in the past few years. The Knights shitfests, and passing that baton to the Tigers. We have had those extra pleasing random years where a team has delightfully surprised everyone with their incompetence. Broncos for example. What a fun year that was. Eels with a history of shit years.

Can the ever 'un'reliable trinity of mediocrity (knights/tigers/dragons) avoid the spoon this year? Are we due a random year? I think it's pretty hard to call this year, but Tigers going for the fourpeat should be slight favourites. Shirley?

Raiders or Titans for mine, but Tigers, Dragons, Knights and Eels will undoubtedly put their hands up during the season.

Titans and Tigers will lead the charge in 2025. Dolphins and Knights in the next bracket. Roosters the smokey.

Just depends who wants it more. It's not easy to win a wooden spoon.

Parramattas long and illustrious connection to the Spoon will see them challenge strongly again. They will be keen to maintain their title of current team with the most Spoons.

Titans.

Raiders in the mix if things go pear shaped with injuries in the forwards.

Eels maybe. Or maybe Ryles is what they say.

I've tipped Titans a couple of times over the last 5 years and what can I say I've got a good feeling about them again this year.

I think Tigers are well and truly safe from the 4-peat but props to them for having an equally bad record to us over that 3 year spoon period. We comfortably had the single worst season - but across the 3 years we had very similar results.

Its wide open this year. More interest in bottom 4 than top 4. Will probably come down to injuries.

Newcastle without Ponga go backwards quickly, same with Eels without Moses, Tigers and Luai.

This Year?

I had the Eels but after seeing their trial I don't think it will be them. Dragons were favourites in the betting but I doubt it'll be them. Once the season starts proper we might get a better indication of who the contenders are.

I'm gonna go someone different... I reckon the Dolphins will get it

I’ve actually got them and the Tits as my bottom 2 (I think the Titans might just win the award) instead of the usual popular choices.

I know they had a big trial win but they really mean nothing. Teams just don’t do well after Bennett. He always f**ks off when he knows they’re gonna go downhill.

It still confuses the f**k out of me that somehow that 2022-2024 Tigers team won as many spoons as the 2015-2017 Knights team. That Knights team was just atrocious. Probably the worst and most inexperienced roster ever. The Tigers legitimately had a few good players though.

I fall into the boring camp. Pedigree wins out, two big cat mascots that know how to do what they do best.

I hope I'm wrong on both accounts but they're proven to be the best at what they do

Kind of expect it to be us, we’ve picked up a few decent forwards but it’s still a weak pack, we also lack points and have a fairly unproven coach. Our spine is very good but this turd may still take another year or two to polish.
