2025
2 rounds
no games at bathurst
no games at Shark park
It's not a competition, it's just a clear and obvious reason that there is a much higher aggregate. It's not a critique of the game or the crowds at all, just a simple fact. Not everything is parochial.

And for what it's worth, it'll balance out across the next month - there's only two games there over the next five weekends, so only 6 games there by the end of Round 7 - the equivalent of last year at the end of Round 7.

Tonight's game was played at a difficult timeslot for both sets of fans, featured zero promotion from the home team and an away team that got pumped last week and has had consecutive average seasons.

16K is far from good, but it's not surprising. Maybe if the Titans had shown the same fight they did tonight against the Sharks more of their fans may have made the trek north.

On the flip side the Dolphins did more to talk about ANZAC Round this week than promote the game. Sure it's hard going up against the Broncos at the moment in Brisbane, but it feels like their marketing efforts have gone backwards.

Hmm some good crowds mixed with some worrying ones in Wollongong and Brisbane with the dolphins vs titans. Each was about 5-6k less than expected.

A qld derby should be getting more than this even though it was in a bad late Sunday timeslot and titans form being dismal. 20k would’ve been acceptable.

Dragons should be getting more at Wollongong for their first home game against a strong opposition in perfect weather on a Sunday afternoon.

No answers just questions.

it does feel a third Brisbane side should be a non-starter until these derbies even in poor form are at 35K and dolphins alone average 30k. Bring in NZ2 and let’s make titans and dolphins great over the next decade.

There is work to do to build up titans and dolphins to the big successful clubs then could be.

I wonder if the nrl missed a beat here and should have had Ipswich jets in before Redcliffe. I think it was just nrl cow toeing to the broncos being worried about Ipswich coming in and stealing their lunch.

i know it’s all form related - dragons, titans being in pretty dismal form over a long period of time and seemingly continuing this year. But we should be beyond these kind of crowds now regardless.

Who says ? do you fork out your hard-earned when your team`s been a dud for years and years and from first round results don`t look any better or do you just sit on here tapping away criticising those who don`t go. Seriously.
