The penalty was a head scratcher and apparently the entire Sharks right edge defence was off somewhere puzzling over a replay cos they sure as f**k weren't defending where they should have been

To be fair, he was hindering him when he didn’t even have the ball. 50/50 that went our way thankfully.

He had his arms around him like a tackle. Last I know, you cannot tackle a player without the ball, regardless whether he caught or passed the ball the moment after.
what
he opened his arms up wide , the penrith player instigated contact , dropped the ball & the defender is penalised?

The tackled without the ball call is one of the few times they've actually gotten it right. Shouldn't matter if he caught it and then threw it forward. You can't tackle someone without the ball.
