@Kilkenny you'd know the young hookers we have jenson tuaoi, Billy Scott, Ryan Cloey and Nathan tolu do any of them look the goods and will any of them be first grade ready in 2028 if mitch Kenny does leave
Billy Scott has had the inside running in recent times but has yet to figure.

I like young Jensen as an attacking option but his small stature is a downside, small bodies can be an issue defensively so not sure with Jenson.

Ryan Cloey recently resigned for three years the club clearly rate him very highly, he has a bit of Harry Grant about him but it’s a long way from swagger in Matt’s to NRL.

I can’t comment on Nathan Tolu just haven’t watched him closely enough.

I think the acquisitions of Jack Cogger and Lussuck has really put Billy Scott in a difficult position. He is currently fourth in line so I just don’t see where he gets an opportunity. So highly touted coming thru the juniors, signed up for a few years but his pathway just seems blocked. I just don’t see much of an opportunity for him currently.

Awesome crisp passer. Like a bullet. Dont underestimate that
On occasion. Spent all last Thursday purposely tripping over Dogs defenders to try milk penalties, was pathetic.

He'd he riding the pine this week if I was Ivan

Just seen we signed Zackary Clarke zero tackle are saying the young front rower down in Melbourne that is going well is his brother.Might be worth a sneaky steal very promising both of them

Both of the Clarke brothers were originally tigers juniors but us and Melbourne stole them away a few years ago

I'm so incredibly sick of this in general. Slows down a teams momentum and looks embarrassing. It's not even like refs are falling for it regularly yet pretty much every hooker has it as a core part of their game atm. Its just abject.

A bloke called Nathan Cleary might go well at hooker…

He actually would. He'd be similar to Wade Egan, just better. Probably similar to Cam Smith. But with the skills he has developed and the nature of our roster and coaching system(s) he is far more suited to halfback or even 5/8 (If Blaize gets injured and Cole is not right). We'd struggle to get value out of him at hooker especially at his price.

The Jenkins dilemma

Try-scoring machine Thomas Jenkins is off-contract at the end of the season and there seems to be a general acceptance that he wants to stay at the club, and the club wants to keep him.

But his incredible try-scoring run is only increasing his value in the market and the Panthers won’t be caught paying overs for a winger – no matter how many four-pointers he runs in.

The problem is that Jenkins is on such a small deal at the moment that we’re not talking about a tiny upgrade here. There’s some talk that Jenkins could command $350,000 on the open market – I’m not confident Penrith will get that high.

An interesting few months ahead, especially if he ends up being a surprise NSW call-up.

I agree. Hopefully because of his previous experiences in leaving for big coin, he's head won't be turned again.
