I remember against the Storm, NAS absolutely smashed Yeo in a terrific tackle. His teammates congratulated him rushing in to go "great hit". But Yeo got up, dusted himself off and just kept making runs, runs and more runs until NAS was crying for oxygen. Relentless, fearless, and it proved to be demoralising for the Storm.

That and the the fearsome onslaught by the forwards unleashed against Parramatta in the grand final, a forward performance, some said, was the greatest ever seen in a grand final , are my favourite memories of the Panthers recent success. The understated nature of our team sometimes disguises the fact that it is an iron fist in a velvet glove. TICKER.

The other great forward performances for mine are the Sea Eagles demolishing Melbourne (I'm still a wee bit upset the boys took the foot off the gas and didn't put 50 on Parra in 2022).

The 2023 GF both sets of middle three forwards were immense, so much so that the free HIA interchange for Flegler in the first half almost changed the result.

2024 GF our pack was ridiculous. Absolute domination, however the Storm are a good defensive team and absolutely lethal so minimal plays were put on unless absolutely needed

2024 Storm had two major attacking threats. Plan A, kick it to Coates. Plan B, kick it to Katoa.

We nullified that in the GF and the resulting effect, they were clueless.

Funny thing is they doubled down with the same in 2025 but the Panthers had already shown the rest how to beat it. The Storm are too basic in attack and get frustrated with strong defence.

Any word on Lindsay Smith re signing yet? The longer this drags on the worse it seems. Surely Penrith must keep him long term with all the other departures that are expected.
We do have some front row talent coming thru, I think it’s a case of not paying overs. It’s a balancing act, I hope we keep him but only at the right money. He’s not irreplaceable.

Brown and Lemoto. See how Ale performs, and Crosby if they stick with him as a prop.

Yeo has a lot of natural gifts but his footy IQ is the most important to the way our side plays. Im not sure Smith has it, hopefully we see him get the chance to prove it more this year, but he might not be the right guy to take over one of our most important roles and the club isn’t willing to pay for that just yet.

Either way he has ball skills that Yeo doesn’t. Maybe with the end of the streak comes a bit more freedom to do things a bit differently and build more plays around Smith’s skillset. Perhaps they could work on some stuff with Smith and our young left edge to provide some different options in attack and disrupt defences.

Yeo is our best ever player and can't be replaced, He's a 1 of 1 really.
I'd be looking to get more out of our fullback and hooker once he finishes up.

hey pantherinos
curious to know where panthers are at with re-signing smith, sorensen, garner & cole
obviously with bears now around those 4 fellas would be great gets.

im guessing smith is close to re-signed? soro might get a 1 year extension in lieu of eiso leaving?

Yeah I think Smith stays. Sorro is probably already cooked, doubt you want him for 2027.
Garner would be a good get for sure.
Cole meh I dunno
