Blade has probably gone off into the sunset.

Not unlike Panthers Daz who was a great source of information back in the day. Once his best mate, front rower whose names escapes me right now left the club that was the last we heard from Panther Daz. Junior Australian representative didn’t quite make it here, went to West Tigers and carrier ended.

Im not sure who was the source of Blades inside info, but given his absence it would appear his source may no longer be involved with club.

I think you might be referring to Shawn Blore. If its the same Panther Daz then he was pretty hot on Blore.

Finally came back to me it was Ollie Clark.
Panthers Daz continued to use his twitter account after he dropped off posting here.

He was a big Leeds United fan, football, and basketball fan whose team he supported I cant recall.

He was a good reliable source back in the day but once his best mate left the club his input ended and so did his support of our club I assume.

Blaize well we never know I guess his absence has been for some time now.

Based on signings and losses for the first time in a few years our squad is a lot stronger the coming year than before .The depth is great and will press for first grade
Stronger still, because I’ve got one of your A grade clubs a sponsor from work.

It’s a pretty reasonable rate imho.

Im going to try to get a half time speech into the boys like Russell Crowe used to do at Souths.

I miss Fibroman from Panther interactive.

He was in with the villains, the anti-Royce forces and a sworn enemy of the Footy Five.

The boys who kept the club safe from merging with the eels after the war.

Royce Simmons. I hope he’s going Ok.

The smuggy era has a long history of blood and power struggles behind it.

Lest we forget the fallen.

PS: please take Bula back.

That’s right @hindy111, I’m going all high mighty and corporate in the smuggy player catchment this season ( where I live).

I’ll invite you to the members bar once the deal is consummated between me and the CEO’s wifey.

We can get smashed and discuss the 1980’s.

I guess you got him banned from Panther interactive like you did me.

Guilt by association, despite my love for Cranky Franky and the priddo problem.

Matty Elliot meets the President for the first time at the aqua golf and tore strips off of him for actually existing.
Dickwad.

And the knifing of Johnny Lang, who helped build the game as we see it today.

Behold said Johnny, Pasifik islanders can play rugby league. The rest be history.

Yes folks, the Penrith panthers were the first club to get serious about islanders. Trendsetters.

i digress:

The lore of the Penrith panthers,
A premiership doth ring
Men in black and chocolate
And desperate Tyrone spy-ing.

No that’s not a chinny half back a standing
Not Looking confused and all
Beside his buddy Tyronicus Pervert
The Hugh Hefner of Kingswood

Yeah, everyone’s hoping Lomax gets flogged, except Vlandys and Bellamy.

I haven’t read the contract, but the eels will probably argue they wouldn’t have contracted with him if the clause wasn’t in there.

He presented himself to the eels as a potential renegade from SGI and so they had the impugned clause shoved in there to protect themselves. Just in case. Very prescient and blue chip rumpole of the bailey lawyering.

And he entered into it willingly, eyes open, erect biro…. so yeah…f**k him.

I hope your service contracts are up to date @hindy111.

At the end of the day, it’s in your best interests to have one that exculpates you entirely.

Hopefully you won’t have to rely upon it, but one day you might.

And while your at it, make sure your personal assets are protected by corporatey trusts etc.

‘Operation Keep Clearys’: Panthers start talks to tie down captain and coach

By Christian Nicolussi - Sydney Morning Herald.

February 3, 2026 — 3.40pm

Penrith are plotting “Operation Keep Clearys” in the hope they can re-sign the game’s premier halfback and coach before they are free to negotiate with NRL rivals at the end of the season.

Nathan and Ivan Cleary are off contract at the end of 2027, and will become the hottest commodities in rugby league if they hit the open market come November 1.

The Panthers are keen to ensure speculation about the Clearys’ next move does not become a distraction this season. The father and son are four-time premiership winners, and will attract huge interest if they are genuinely open to moving.

It has already been reported the Clearys are in the sights of the game’s 19th franchise, the PNG Chiefs, who will have the advantage of tabling tax concessions in contract negotiations.

The Panthers have said previously they want Nathan to become a Panther for life, and are prepared to offer him a deal that reflects his value to the club and community.

The NRL have commenced preliminary discussions about the next TV broadcast deal. Should it eclipse the $1.7 billion, five-year arrangement that runs until the end of 2027, Cleary stands to become rugby league’s first $2 million-a-season player.

A new deal with the Panthers would be likely to include ratchet clauses increasing the value of the contract in line with the salary cap.

Panthers rugby league chief Matt Cameron confirmed internal discussions with the Clearys had been held.

“What Ivan and Nathan do next is going to become a hot topic of discussion as we move through the 2026 season,” Cameron said.

“The pair are both contracted until the end of 2027. There is a rhythm that exists once the season starts, and when we feel the time is right our chairman, Peter Graham, will engage with Ivan and Nathan to get the conversation started.

“With Nathan, the way sports science is these days and the way he prepares, he could play on another 10 years – who knows, he could set all sorts of new records for most games played and points scored.

“We’d love Ivan and Nathan to stay. They have already played a huge role in our success and we want that to continue.”

The Panthers announced contract extensions for the Clearys in April 2022, more than 18 months before Ivan was off contract and two-and-a-half years before Nathan’s deal expired.

Complicating matters for the Panthers is that they have a host of other stars off contract at the end of 2027, including co-captain Isaah Yeo, Liam Martin, Brian To’o, Moses Leota, Mitch Kenny and young playmaker Blaize Talagi.

The Panthers have been forced to farewell many players from their premiership run since 2021, having been unable to match the bigger paydays on offer elsewhere. On average, they have lost about $1m a year in talent.

There has been speculation Cleary might finish his career in the Super League to be closer to his partner, Matildas and Manchester City striker Mary Fowler, in England.

The more immediate threat to the Panthers would be the PNG Chiefs, due to enter the competition in 2028, largely because of the mooted tax benefits. A bumper contract at the league newcomers would effectively be worth double what they could make elsewhere.

“We’d love Nathan to stay, we want Ivan to stay, and those other players you’ve just mentioned who are off contract at the end of 2027, your ‘Isaahs’, your ‘Liams’, your ‘Bizzas’ [To’o] and ‘Leotas’, your ‘Mitch Kennys’, all I can say is we’ll be doing everything we can to keep them,” Cameron said.

The Clearys won four straight premierships and arguably should have had a fifth last year, only to lose the preliminary final against the Broncos after leading 14-0 at half-time.

Its a strong sg ball side this season.

Is your sg ball side playing first grade this year if not it will not matter to your top side in a few years yes
Plus we have seen many strong sg ball side at many club where a lot of the kids do not kick on the great careers
