Not sure its sorted but he has said he wont be here. But yeah i was no to fussed with him potentially leaving this year or next because hes already 30. We are going to have to let some players go sooner then we want or risk a falling off a cliff in 2 or 3 years.
Ok, thats a shame. I was hoping he would be staying for another year or 2. But if he is going then yeah, f**k him, ride the pine with Sorro and get some reps into the kids.

Do hope he gets a good bag though, can't fault his efforts as a Panther.

Garner is the only forward at the club proven to be able to cover the backs.
He's in the 19 until someone else can do that
I'm good with him being in the 19. If he is just getting 20 minutes in the back row I'd just rather the time is given to one of the younger ones we will have longer term. If we have a backrower or centre go down early and he plays 60, then the spot is his. Even if he is going, I dont advocate cutting off our nose to spite our face.

Trouble is despite his limitations he's still our best backrower week to week

I dont think we shuld not play Garner when he is fit this year, he certainly plays. But to your point no one else is going to prove they can do it until they get a chance, and finding someone who can do it and play backrow at the nrl level is just the start, Take GArner for example, he always had utility and could play centre and backrow but he wasnt half so good as he is now at either position but in particular backrow until after he was 25, it took him years of nrl to get this good. You have to let someone try for them to prove it is the point. He is gone in a year regardless so we are going to figure it out.

I think the key thing is how they develop from Matts to First Grade. That’s what Penrith has done well. Yeo and Edwards were never considered generational prospcts. Cleary himself was a nice prospect but no one could have predicted the player he’s become. The roles we’ve had available have been role players for the last 5 years except maybe Kenny and boy has he exceeded everyone’s wildest imaginations on how influential he could be.

it’ll be interesting to see how the club goes once again polishing prospects into elite players with some more important roles up for grabs in the next 3 years. What jump dos Smith make when we start building our structure around him rather than just being a tackle bit and hit up merchant. How does Edgar progress? How does Talagi develop.

But when Yeo was in Rookie year I remember Ovan saying he will play for Australia. I never believed it as it took a few years for him to look good.

Is that required now? We can have an outside back on the bench. I mean I’d still pick Garner based on his ability in the forwards, but it certainly makes him easier to replace.

Has been quality for the Warriors but had a major injury last year. Will be 33 in 2027 for his new deal as well.

So a bit of risk there. He is probably looking for a final 3 year deal before retiring.

id take Barnett 100% but he will command good money which we dont have

word is Titans or Knights because they are close to family (he is coming home for his sick child and needs to be around family)

Barnett is the player that i hope Jack Hetherington would turn out like - but not to be

Beast of a player. Handy replacement for Henry, but he’ll most likely land in Newy or Qld for family reasons. At least that’s what’s being reported

Yeah nsw missed him last year. Rate him in his old age. Hope him and his family will be good.

Edit: one year deal while we transition some young guys would be great.

No thanks. Would take him for this year only perhaps, hes coming off an ACL and he will be 32 in two months. Good player and seems to have become a leader but we have enough experience in the middle. As a dev club it would be concerning if we dont have 1 or 2 guys ready to step onto the bench for Henry next year.
