Everyone is catching up to me, as is the general trend.

I get some wrong but no one else on this forum routinely puts their balls on the line like me.

Tago can play but when your best season was your debut season and that was 5 years ago......you have f**king issues.
Well I can"t do that as I am a female. No need to turn this into a personal attack because I disagree with you

Are you under the cap for 2026? Yes
Are you a title chance - Yes
Do you have a lot of depth in backs - No

Why would you release Tago? It isnt a rebuild year.
oh dont worry - i dont want to trade Tago now - we've be giving another team a leg up and shooting ourselves in the foot for 2026. I dont think there is anyone we would trade Tago for during this season that's a realistic and gettable that improves Penrith in 2026.

Personally im not giving Tago up via a trade unless we get someone that improves us instantly.

id be moving Tago on from our current backline moving forward (when his contract expires) - he is a good player, but he's also had poor performances which warranted being dropped in previous seasons. He is a specialist centre only, whereas Casey, Alamoti and Milky can all play Centre or Wing (or Fullback if need be) at a level that doesnt disadvantage us. Given that he is on the most $$$ out of those 4 players mentioned - its an easy decision.

we know that Tago played 2nd row in lower grades but Ivan & co just dont want to play him there as an alternate option if he doesnt play centre. Given that he's not our #1 centre in our team now - are we really getting the best value from Tago? On his day he is very good, but is he very good more often than not? no he isn't

that said, if we lost 1 or 2 key backline players to another club - then we keep Tago 100%.

Martin, Leota and Tago phoned it in during 2024 (JFH too).

It didn't matter since Dyl, To'o and Yeoweh gave it all when fit and they fired up in the finals.

They did the same in 2025 except the workhorses were so busted they couldn't carry the load.

It's a shame really, a few more wins in the early season and it's five in a row.

I have eyeballs. The man for all his talent simply can't read the plays coming at him in defence, this isn't opinion its fact
You really are the Donald ‘that is the facts’ Trump of the Penrith forum.

There have been plenty of times over the years that that you have spouted your generic, trite OPINION and others have proven it wrong with facts.

There have seen some challenges on the right edge at times (albeit almost exclusively in early parts of different seasons), but only the bombastic attribute that to Tago solely. Yes there has been times when they were terrible reads from Tago, but in almost equal number have been similarly bad reads (and sometimes efforts) from Martin, Cleary and To’o. It is the easy option to blame the non-SOO player. Bit it is generally buttoned down by the finals.

I don’t think Tago has kicked on from his earlier seasons (I feel 2023 was his best). I also think that it would have been great to keep Critta. But neither of these fill me with rage.

And if he is indeed on 750k (which I don’t believe) then that is probably overs for a pre-2022 contract, probably on par for a contract since the increase.

Rage? I like Tago and while hes still contracted here he'd offer far more than in the role we are playing Cogger in for some bizarre reason.
People think I hate the bloke or something but the truth is he's just not a good defender at centre. It used to be acceptable because with the ball he was f**king amazing but thats also mostly gone.

Most fans Penrith or otherwise have agreed on Tago's defensive issues for at least 2 seasons. It's mostly this forum that gets strangely defensive over it.

He had it in him to be the best centre in the game and just stalled.

The bit about cogger isn't right. He's there for the passing of a half. Tago isn't providing that. He's a strong runner.

Every game he has a blinder in defence (on the rare occasion) I talk it up and then take the piss out of myself but its the end of the line for him imo

Strong running fast lock is what we are after in the middle or should be. For that little spell Yeonis having now
