I don’t see a world where Henry could be better than Phillips is now. Look at Phillips vision on the try where Dylan threw the huge pass, there aren’t many middle forwards in the game who would’ve summed that up half as quick as Phillips did.

Besides the start of last year we are always flying, Henry has been running downhill most of his career by that logic. Phillips has been on the field for some tough periods. The idea that you cant judge at all because the team is going well is dumb. Sure you have to account for the teams form when looking at individual form but we can still get a very good idea of where Phillips is at by watching him.

Im not against Henry coming back but he has to be able play better than Phillips. Im not just going have to have a worse player come in because hes more senior or because Phillips is lean. Phillips might look skinny but if hes less than 100kgs ill eat my hat, on top of that he has vision and skill that Henry will never have.

So all the "trials are a waste of time" people please tell that to Milky and Ivan. Without that losing trial we might not have got 10 tries in 4 games from our left winger.

Phillips for me. Our ethos has always been that if a bloke comes in and takes his opportunity then he keeps his spot. There are a few exceptions who walk back in (Yeo, Nath, Too etc) but Henry isn't one of them. And overall I think its a fantastic principle. Keeps players at all levels hungry and motivated. Its a long season and Henry will be hungrier for his next (inevitable) shot if he has to work for it.

I dont think he gets a run in NSW. Too many good centers like Creighton, Mitchell and Maclean. I suspect that Maclean will get pushed out to that wing spot just to get him in the team.

Agree - but his form is too good not to be included somewhere in the side. Creighton will be one center and they will probably go with Mitchell as the other one. Tóo has one wing assured. Wing is all that left for him, and yes he has form at international level there.

I think they can be useful. But I do think opinion among coaches is mixed.

Right now the forward pack is almost 100% bar Henry. I would say 9/10 there is a high chance one forward will be missing with a niggle or serious injury of some sort.
So even if Phillips drops out it's not going to be for long. He will be in and out of the side but mostly in. Come finals he may of forced himself into the best 17.

Patea is probably the one who has slipped right down the pecking order. Many had him in the best 17. But Id guess there is 2-3 infront of him now before you get to the best 17. Phillips,Tago, Going (or maybe im thinking of Ale)
