Please do. We cant have a head coach making decisions off trials, surely he knows the keyboard experts thinks they are worthless.

Do we then go to the 10+ players across the comp that get injured in trials and go 'Lads, chill alright. Milky Jenkins got picked Round 1 – your injuries were not in vain.'

With the season as long as it is, trials are pointless.

That argument can cut the other way too though. Injuries happen in a long season. Were just as screwed if Nath does his ACL in round 2 as we would be if he did it in a trial.

A 40 minute, mid intensity hit out gives a bit more match sharpness to a squad, last minute clarity to a coach while slightly increasing the risk of injuries. Its hardly moving the needle super far in either direction if were being honest.

Its fun to joke about but he's not that level of player

BUT Marky Mark sure as f**k isn't either and that bum played for Australia
What does milky need to do for you to say that he’s at that level? What more can he do to change your mind?

I’m not saying he should be picked either, but he’s certainly got to be in the conversation.

Mitch Kenny is another one that people write off. When in reality, outside of Grant, he’s the inform 9 and passing is elite.

More than 5 minutes of good form for a start

Kenny should be the NSW 9. They bang on with all this "built for Origin" rubbish, but if anyone ever was it's Mitch Kenny.

Milky would hold his own, don't see it happening though.

His general ability has caught up as well so he's as good a passer etc. As any hooker in the game. He just doesn't have some of the extra finesse of someone like Api.

I'm half taking the piss suggesting Jenkins will receive rep honours.

Emphasis on half though. Just because come Origin everyone knows the best 17 won't be available. Guys like Tom and Latrell barely put 20 games of years together a year.

Consider Lomax is now gone. Marky Mark off to rugby. Why on earth pick him for Origin? Those guys shouldn't be in the discussion at all.

Form also counts. Jenkins killed it in 2025 and that has continued into 2026. So his name will 100% be discussed.

The list of players ahead of Jenkins isn't really that many. He could easily be picked.

Kenny isn't just a very good hooker, he's a solid interchange forward and in a stacked squad, is a quality 14.

He's a big part of our success because of his versatility.

Api is still NSW's best hooker and its not particularly close

Api is slowing down defensively. It's a crime he hasn't played more rep footy to this point though.

Kenny 9, Api 14 would work for NSW. Amazing no one else has thought of it really, oh wait.

Reality is it doesn't matter anyway, look who is coaching.

He was in the Origin squad and got himself booted out in 2021. Also broke his jaw in 2023 which was quite unlucky.

He missed out the year Madge won the shield due to his defence. I'm inclined to think it will happen again this year too.
