With Starc retiring from T20, Hopefully Spencer Johnson can come back fit and ready to make a crack of Starcs role

We are much of a sameness in the pace bowling

Yeah the best thing to do would be to ban both the packs of cats.

Fully understand the BCCICC would never do that to India (they'd probably trigger Pakistan if they could get away with it) but deadset. It's fine to not want to play teams for genuine political reasons, eg human rights abuses. I seriously think this playground hatred has gone on so long no one on either side actually even remembers the original political differences

Disappointing news.

India v Pakistan matches are such a massive draw. But they haven't played a test match series since 2008...

Hope to see it happen again one day.

There was some talk of playing a test at the MCG

We tried to make a test happen at the home of sport, as both nations were touring here (close enough) in our summer 24/25

Article written March 2024

Hopes of a blockbuster between India and Pakistan in Australia have been dashed for next summer but it has not diminished the enthusiasm of local administrators for the concept based on the previous pulling power of matches between the two nations.

Pakistan will tour Australia in November for three ODI matches and three T20 encounters shortly before India arrive for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but Cricket Australia was unable to convince the neighbouring powers to participate in a match later this year.

Fox Cricket expert Harsha Bhogle said in December that while it would prove a massive hit with fans, he doubts the nations will ever agree to meet on neutral ground.

“If there was an India-Pakistan Test match at the MCG, you would sell it out within a day of the tickets going on sale, there is no doubt about that at all,” he said.

“They would all be sitting on their laptops, all the Indian fans and Pakistan fans, waiting for the tickets to go on sale and ... boom, they would go for it right away.

“Everyone talks about separating sport and politics but certainly in our part of the world it is impossible to separate the two because it is such a deep-rooted emotion, both with what is happening between our countries and with sport itself, so I’m not sure.

I see both sides

I recall Dean Jones said about 10 years Pakistan want to play India.

But India didnt want a bar of it.

India were the ones to ban Pakistan players from IPL after Mumbai Attacks in 2008 and in cricketing terms its never recovered.

If india want to bitch and moan about Pakistan boycotting them well tbf they have avoided them for a good 10-15 years outside of the ICC tournaments where BCCI take a fair slice of that TV rights.

In saying that Pakistan have there own stigma they have thrown matches and treated International cricket with contempt and fraud at times in games they have played.

I was watching some highlights on youtube recentley on Tri-series

Amazing to think in January 2000 we had Pakistan and India as the 2 other sides against Australia for that series. They played each other 4 times in the ODIs that summer

If we ever brought back the tri series, then id hold it every two years only, with India and Pakistan

Be the only times india v pak play each other (outside WCs and the politics that surround it)

Be a huge cash cow of a series in every match..Be bigger than the NRL pre season challenge cup..

We could call it the Khawaja-Inzamann-Dhoni (KID) cup

Honestly, Pakistan have played a blinder here. Exposed the ICC’s double standards and whilst India could gladly toss out Bangladesh, losing Pakistan will hurt their bottom line, even a boycott of that one match will sting.
Pakistan might not have a choice if they lose here.

There balls deep in trouble against the Dutch and will have to play India to stay alive.

Peak Pakistan if they lose this

Pretty poor from Henry.

First he was too busy arguing with a correct not out lbw call to get back to the stumps at the non strikers, probably would have been a very good hance of a run out.

Then he encourages an absolute Watto review
