Does the club do something special to mark 20 years since Peter Gow cut up that dragons jersey?

Unfortunately the straight NRL and club marketing people would not share your sense of humour.

Personally I'd love to see a thousand fans assembled on the field after a victorious Anzac Day local derby, each holding a Stains jersey and a pair of scissors. We could play Pink Floyd's "One of these days" from Meddle, and then everyone gets into cutting up the jerseys when the words "One of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces".

You'd need copyright permission from the Pink Floyd organisation though.

You’d have more luck getting the NRL to agree before pink Floyd.
They are notorious for not letting their music being used .
I think they let the wall be used in a school play once.
They did the soundtrack to a couple of movies early on .
Shame really.
Their music could be awesome in the right movie scene/ event.

Think you're on the money Carch.... it's something that deserves to be celebrated and remembered. A good mate of mine (goons fan) is still pissed about it 20 years on.

What about the fence?

I had a look in their forum the next day.
Bwhaha
They were calling for the sharks to buy them a new fence.

I recall Pink Floyd's "Echoes" being used in the surfing movie Crystal Voyager, I think they liked that use. I haven't seen the 2 movies they did all the music for "More" and "Obscured by Clouds".

Anyway this is the song in question for my suggested performance art piece:

Yep
George greenough
Built his own boat called the crystal voyager .
The last 20mins echoes was used for slow motion in the tube footage.
From memory they’d approached him for footage to use as a back drop during their gigs,
He said yeah- if he could put some music in his film.
He was pretty well known for water footage and making surf films by this time.

I have the film
The rest of the music in the film was done by an Aussie jingle writer.
The band only got together to record the record and I think they may have played the songs once live .

Great songs.
George is still kicking and lives up Broken head still surfs his surf mats and Kneeboards.

I'm also quite a fan of Crystal Voyager and all of its soundtrack, saw it in 73 at the Opera House cinema, and bought the soundtrack album soon afterwards. G. Wayne Thomas did most of the music and he also did most of Morning of the Earth, another Aussie surf movie classic that you no doubt know.

I have an interview with G Wayne Thomas on a computer somewhere here I kicked off the net.
I’ll try to find a link.

Some of the music on that vid was terrible...
anyways I always ask out loud if anyone has a pair of scissors if I spot a goon supporter down Cronulla wearing those horrible jerseys.
