21000 is still good.
You got to take alot of things into consideration with those figures.

It was a Sunday
Out of towners would have found it hard to make the game today
The weather
Persoanlly I know supporters who have to work on Sunday because they are quite familiar with the Saturday night DFS time slot that they ask for that time off
I'm sure theres other reasons but at the same time I don't see any dissapointment in those numbers.

You can guarantee it would have been more IF it was played last night.

It was obvious there wasn't a full house there. The extreme corners of the eastern stand were empty and the general admission areas clearly weren't absolutely packed. A little disappointing I suppose but nothing to be too upset about considering the circumstances.

Would you sit in 30+ degrees in North Qld when the game is live on TV throughout QLD??????

Half you southerners have no idea what 30 degrees with 70-80% humidity feels like......... it's very very unpleasant.

What people have got to understand about NQ is that a lot of people from NQ have to travel for severel hours to get there. They're not all living 5 minutes away from the stadium.

The NRL would have been better off playing this game on Saturday night and they would have got 24k+

Not all fans of Sydney teams are living 5 minutes away from the stadium.

This is rich considering Queenslanders put sh*t on the 50 thousand Eels/Dogs got lost night. Cowboys couldnt even get half that and the weather is no excuse considering it was freezing last night in Sydney so maybe people wouldnt have gone either.

Your kidding me.
Cowboys were about 3000 off full house (they usually hold bout 24/25000)
In Sydney there was a lot of expectation that the game would attract 10/15000 more then it did - probably the reason for the uproar over the figures.
The sydney game conisisted of 2 heavily backed sydney sides.

Sydney weather is sydney weather. Townsville weather is Townsville weather - it's all up to the crowds if they wanna show up - I thought the figures were good considering.

That is possibly the stupidest thing I've read on this forum in a while (and that's saying something!)

The population of Townsville is 140,000. The temperature is going to be over 30 degrees and conditions will be extremely uncomfortable.

The population of Sydney 4,119,000. This game was played at night in perfect conditions.

Yet Sydney manages just over double the crowd and you are boasting about that?

I was even asking Cowboys to get 50 thousand but maybe they could pull half of what Sydney got.

So both crowds were about 20% below the most optimistic expectiations?
