Why would you have fox and not HD? Are they still watching on CRT TV's?

The question should be why isn't HD the standard now? If you have to pay for an improved picture in 2017 it should be 4K.
I refuse to pay the extra for HD and I'm f**king them off totally in a few weeks.

They know what they are doing up there don't they? Using the same mantra the U.S. government has been using for many years by feeding it's public that for whatever reason,they are always under threat.Hence the threat is NSW.

The underlying point here is that only 5% of Qld with a thinking mind realise this.And alas,the rest of the brain-dead Qlders fall for this rubbish.

As far as tonight's programe was concerned.There wasn't much substance and depth about it.

They've got plenty of time to tweek it though.

Im a qlder to the bone, but I honestly dont see the need for our 'own' show. I know they need to get some content for the channel, but f**k me dead, unless they focus on the Qcup and stories about the local leagues, there is absolutley no need for a qld orientated show. If the 3 NRL sides play well enough this year, they will get enough exposure naturally over the other shows without the need for this over the top rubbish.

It's a disgrace they are charging people for HD, now that Ch 7/9/10 are broadcasting in HD. 4K quality though is amazing, and would definitely be worth paying for.

Given that Ch 7/9/10 have only recently (over the past 18 months, starting with the inaugural day/night test match) commenced broadcasting sport in full HD, it's going to be at least another 5-10 years before the possibility of broadcasting tv in 4k in Australia.

Such a disappointment. After waiting years, the 24 hour channel had a lot of potential, but instead is most likely going to turn out to be dominated by News Ltd/Daily Telegraph personnel. At least the old Optus 24 hour RL channel replayed many classic matches

With all the QLD love, they might as well revive the old QLD Footy Show that was hosted by Billy J Smith/Chris Bombala. Or even better, permanently exile Fatty Vautin back to QLD for the QLD Footy Show, where he can yell "QUEENSLANDER! QUEENSLANDER!" ad nauseum.

You raise a good point. Last year, Warren Smith/Andrew Voss/Matt Russell/Joel Caine called NRL matches on Fox. With the signing of Brenton Speed (or promotion I should say, as he was working for Fox, calling A-League matches) who will call both NRL AND AFL matches this year, this will make things interesting as to whether Fox have dropped a caller to make way for Speed on their NRL coverage or if there's some other plan. Something tells me that I don't think Fox would've invested in 5 full-time NRL callers over 8 matches/round, unless it was to decrease the workload of Warren Smith, who called 3 matches per round last year.

Personally, I hope Voss hasn't been given the flick and he'd be absolutely filthy if he was replaced with someone like Brenton Speed. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until the World Cup in October/November.
