Obviously there's plenty of paperwork.
Probably not going to be any specific order but the NRL will want to see a business plan: Financial records- costs, income, projections along with a marketing strategy. Stadium- availability ,venue and all associated costs. Training facilities, offices and locations of all these things with at least a letter of intent. Structures for academies, feeder teams ect. Likely Hotel locations for visiting teams.

Obviously the more detailed and comprehensive bids will be looked apon favourably...
WA so far have a poorly written letter that's only use was to let everyone know just how far behind they are ! They don't even know who they are yet.
It's the most non bid.. bid.
What we've got is the peanut gallery running off at the mouth at shit they've got no idea about because it suits their agenda.

Yes the level of shit for brains here is startling. These twits seem to think they know everything because they read news limited articles. FMD. It’s scary.

If you think we arent ready and weve had a consortium, Govt and Consultancy firm working on it for 18 months where do you think the NZ bids are at?
I think this nails it.

Frankly, the resources that the state Govt is willing to put into the Perth bid (in whatever brand or structure eventuates) CERTAINLY puts it ahead of NZ 2, because you don't have that dynamic where a state Government will funnel resources into it to help the initial setup.

Hell, in the current political environment here in NZ you'd be hard pressed to get either arm of Government - local OR central to put money into a footy team.

Local councils are swamped with infrastructure costs (mostly aging water pipes to replace/fix), and central Government is the most austere one we've had since the Ruthenasia days of the 1990s.

What we know publicly, and there is plenty we dont know, for Perth:

Stadium locked in
NRLWA support
CofE development locked in (Wa govt funded)
Jnr pathway funding locked in (WA Govt funded)
Consortium ownership Perth end locked in
Support of NRLWA locked in
Consultancy firm contracted to write it all up

What we dont know publicly:
Investment from others outside of current consortium
If partnership will happen
Brand (see above)
Sponsors locked in

I;ve been involved in multi million $ tenders, I know the process. You have 75% of it developed pre tender and the consultancy firm takes that with the 25% remaining based on tender requirements.
We'll be right.

Who are the investors & businessmen?!
How much is wa government putting in & for how long?!
If it's a cumins bid & the NRL has previously knocked back a similar one in the past why is this bid better?!

NRL got $75 from fox to prop up Dolphins. What investment is wa government offering?!

One of rumoured kiwi bids is led by billionaire.

None of this is true.
There isn't a formed organisation to support.
Nothing exists yet.
At this point, they don't have an ABN ffs. Business names? Pty ? Gst ?
The ceo? Company structure? Trade mark?
There's people talking...

The Kea has all those things- it's an actual organisation.

We know 2 of the 3 Christchurch bidders, but is it fair to assume that we'll know more about the 3rd one by the end of the month?

I also see that the "South Island NRL team" bid (not the Kea or the mystery one) has posted on Facebook asking for brand ideas... I wonder if they're going to decide on that before submitting their bid or if it'll be generic with branding still TBC.

South Island situation seems to be:

Bid 1 - Local RL people who seem a bit in over their head but trying to make it happen. No brand announced as yet.
Bid 2 - Slightly more credentialed group with a cool brand but not much else put forward publicly other than AI images.
Bid 3 - Secret new group of (apparently) wealthy people wanting a team.

Just seems if all 3 (if the 3rd exists) could work together it would have the makings of a great bid. We know the first 2 aren’t interested in working together. Hopefully at least one of them has some substance to it as NZ2 is a no brainer for one of teams 18-20.

$75 bucks, wow!
This culture really needs to stop.
You need to f**k off

That's probably the biggest load of bullshit typed on this forum, and that's saying something when it contains @Wb1234 and @Matt_CBY

Yeah, bids 1 & 2 basically come across as the stereotypical "chalk & cheese" - an earthy bid run by "rugby league people" versus a flashy "marketing blitz" of a Kea bid.

I wouldn't be surprised if BOTH are trying to court the 3rd "secretive bid" in the hope that hooking up with those money-men can put them in the box-seat.

Fair summary.
The 3rd could easily join either of the first two, to hit it out of the park.
There's a wealth of experience in those first 2 bids, what we aren't seeing is the cash.
I think the second will go with Scorpions, third could be the Bulls?
They've been working away in public and now I think they'll be in overdrive. The NRL has made it clear to submit bids in a month and it might light the fuze for investors.
