Sensational. It seems i keep underestimating just how poor this indian attack is. The batsmen again win the match despite the mediocre efforts of one of the worst bowling attacks in australian history!

Might be better for India if Dhoni stepped aside. Seems like he is just marking time at the moment.

A retirement announcement can't be far away.

we won that eased up on the line in the end, Faulkner was immense in the last 10 overs, 320+ looked a sure thing but he got a few cheap overs in there and really put them under pressure, you could argue they were unlucky to lose Sharma in that fashion at that time but I would counter the argument and suggest he should of been gone some 30-40 runs before hand

I would like to see us bat first and see what sort of a score we can post, we're knocking down these run chases with a bit in hand, India still haven't found that world class quick they've been lacking on the bouncier Australian tracks and until they find that, they're not going to trouble us as the ball doesn't spin a great deal

Dhoni, suck shit, you played the media, got your so called "50/50" and your team still got flogged, I can accept the bad decision by the umpire but it's pretty poor form to suggest you're not getting the decisions go your way when the whole reason that DRS isn't in place is because of the politics that India likes to bring into the game

one more thing, we need a genuine #5, not some guy who can play reverse sweep shots and have them work 1 in every 10 innings, as I have said before if we go 3 down for f**k all, we're screwed

To be fair Maxwell has played a number of innings of the last 12 months in ODI cricket where he has scored big runs including a big hundred.

What will Australia do for Melbourne? Faulkner out, Mick Lewis in? Got to get these Indians in to the series somehow

I don't see why not, he has his best bowling figures in ODI's against the Kiwis after all

Never really been a fan of Bailey but geez he's in some career best form.

When you watch Finch face up to the bowler he looks like he is about to murder someone

Not entirely sure what you're trying to do here, but I'll presume the best.

That match, Lewis' debut, was a cracker. His wickets were Astle, Vincent and Cairns- so he can be sure that 1 of them was genuine. I was at the next match and he got carted a bit.

Probably his best performance was his match before that fateful one. 2 for 38 and he hit the winning runs to get Australia home by 1 wicket in the last over. Herschel Gibbs belted him into infamy the next week.

Anyway, my point is that despite a seriously under par (for Australia) bowling attack, India have really tanked this series.

we expected more too, their attack just cannot put pressure on our bowlers on our roads, spinners seem to be ineffective

its sorta like out batsmen trying to bat in England

Finch was ugly to watch the first 50 balls of his innings. Even when he got going it still wasn't pretty.

Agree with Blaza that we can't carry Biscuits. I'm sure we bat him high in the order so that he's not out there batting to save an innings, it still doesn't help when he throws his wicket away when we're 3 for f**k all and then expect the Iceman and Scissorhands to save the game. Can rely on Faulkner but we start to look thin after Wade and Hastings is hit and miss with the bat.

India have at least turned up. They have shown a lot of intent but haven't maintained it over the innings.

They were worse last year prior to the world cup. Add an inform Warner, Starc and a top line spinner our team becomes even better and we have walked in the last two chases.

Maxwell I am not a fan of especially his bowling but I can see the upside. His average is good considering his cavalier approach. He needs more experience finishing innings not out like last night.

I'd pick Warner because he's the vice captain and we know what he can do, but he's never really clicked into second gear in the ODI game. All things being even, he'd probably be competing with an opening spot with Finch and Marsh, assuming Usman opens.

But yes, add Starc and a few other names and drop the Australia A blokes and Australia win even more comfortably. It's embarrassing that its 2-0
