I loved Cook in the post match presentations after the first one, he was asked why he and England were able to make runs in the ODI but not in the test series and he said "I don't know".

But 137 runs, he was the difference, it did help that KP hung around for a while, and Bopara made a solid contribution too

Pieterson hung around, but he looked like an under 14's player facing Dennis Lillee and Shane Warne.

He could have spiced it up a bit, say something like "Well, in all honesty, the bookies didnt give us much money to fix the one dayers"

England won the toss and elected to bat first

line ups are as follows:
England
Alastair Cook (captain), Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott, Eoin Morgan, Craig Kieswetter (keeper), Samit Patel, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, James Anderson, Steven Finn
Pakistan
Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal (keeper), Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul, Abdur Rehman, Azhar Ali, Aizaz Cheema.

Umar Akmal is keeping, so now the whole family has kept for the national team

It's the end of the 35th over now, England have batted pretty well so far, opening partnership lasted 67 runs before KP got out for 26, undone by Ajmal who found plenty of turn in the wicket to trap KP LBW. I missed most of the second partnership, but I heard that it had been going well when I saw the end of it and the wicket which was very timely, pretty weak dismissal though, but gave Umar Akmal an easy catch behind the stumps, that was Trott who gave his wicket to Aizaz Sheema for 23. Cook has been very solid yet again, now batting with Bopara he is doing okay too, partnership is 38, Cook on 79, Bopara 15 and England are 154/2

back to back centuries for Cook now, this has been another great knock from him too

Commies are suggesting that this may be the first time an English captain has hit back to back ODI centuries, I'm not sure, but I get the feeling that they're wrong

Back to back half centuries for Bopara now. And Morgan just hit the first six of the ODI series. With one over left in the innings, England are 242/3.

I am going to bed during the interval

Bopara hit the ball a long way up in the air only for it to go straight down to the keeper on t he last ball of the innings. So England finish up with 250/4
