I do wonder why Smith hasn't been given a bowl... Clarke is captaining very well at the moment hopefully he can keep it up. Dussey shouldn't be in the side and nor should Haddin IMO. We should be at least trying to get some younger guys in the side IMO. Give Warner another crack at opener...

agree with everything except Warner. Warner is a good T20 batsman, but that's about it, maybe you could coach him into a decent ODI batsman.

I think Warner has more potential as a first class batsmen. Give him a year or two in the Shield Side and see profit.

Paine is shite, would rather Wade. Haddin isnt choosing a good time to have poor form however.

Smith is a potetially class international cricketer, but shouldnt be in the side at present (although im not too fussed re ODI's, as long as he isnt near the test team till is performances warrent it).

Warner has been in great form in the first class arena of late and I see no reason why he can't convert that into the ODI arena if he is giving a good run at it... Warner is now twice the player he was when he first debuted.

I would pick Wade over Paine but we both know that won;t happen.

On Smith, he clearly has talent and potential a bit like Symonds did in his younger days. We know how long it took Symonds to come good..

Warner did well for Australia A recently, didn't he get a ton and a double ton in two test matches

Suggests he can play in longer versions of the game and he may be more selective with his shots.

Just on Steve Smith, we haven't really needed him to bat and even Dussey and X haven't bowled that much. The quicks have been doing to job so he hasn't really been needed so far.

...well he's a better option then Cameron Shite anyway

QFT

It is funny how the Victorians are up in arms about Smith being in the side but were quite happy for White to be in the ODI side for 50 matches before he contributed to the team.

Would like to see Warner perform for NSW before going back into the ODI side although I wouldn't complain if picked.

Agree Haddin's performances should have him in the crosshairs at ODI level. Paine could take his spot, but I would prefer Wade though. I wonder how his injury is?

On Smith I think it's just a sign of the quality of Clarke's captaincy. He can see who is going to work in different conditions. He obviously felt he would get better value from the others in game two. In another game we could easily see Smith bowl his 10 and some of the quicks bowl much less. I do hope Smith is left out of the ODI's over summer though to allow him to get as much Shield as possible.

Warner is still finding his feet, but he is going so well. He is showing such good application especially at FC level, but he's also being more selective about his shots in the hit and giggle. Give him another summer at State level before you look to seriously at him for Australia.
