what a batting performance from Gunaratne on those last two overs. It was a foregone conclusion 2 overs ago when Sri Lanka still needed 36 runs to win.

Henriques and Tye...too many short balls there to exploit, especially with the shorter boundaries on the 45 degree angle to the wicket.

Meh. The definition of a pointless series. but.....

Fact is we still approach T20 batting the wrong way. We didn't have enough runs, even at 5/60 you only need 110 odd with 5 wickets in hand. Very doable with a reasonable partnership or two.

We try and go too hard at the top, and we underrate the idea of having batsmen in hand with five or six overs to play. You'd much rather be 3/85 after 15 than 6/125 and we've never really learned that.

I agree with you 100% Our approach to T20 is pretty awful even with the big guns in.
