2nd Test: Australia v South Africa at Hobart on Nov 12-16, 2016

Nevill making 14 off 148 would be great, under the circumstances.

Better than an opener slashing at 1 to walk off on 1 run off 4 balls.
I understand your sentiments but I disagree.

I'm not suggesting Nevill should start slashing away in such tough conditions. 14 from 68 balls in the first session and a bit would be great.

But at some point he'll have to look to increase the pace to alleviate the pressure on Smith.

Again, that's not even close to being now. But a change in ethos has to come at some point once the conditions improve to put the pressure back on South Africa.

merkins giggling on the sideline. Good to see they're enjoying themselves

Meh. What can you do? Especially if you're out. You're out, no point getting worked up. Might as well stay relaxed rather than piling more pressure on yourself. Everyone is different, some players will head out to the nets, some will let off steam in one hit in the sheds and then be pretty relaxed, some will sulk....personally I've never seen the point in sulking or dwelling on it. Better to focus on the next job

Clearly they weren't focused or embarrassed like us fans are

I know they just lost but the Australian test team is meant to be like the All Blacks or Brazil in soccer. We should be the pinnacle

Went for a run when the score was 2/8 and came home to be reminded that we have the most braindead Crickers in history in our side.

I'm not embarrassed, this is great Test cricket IMO. We haven't actually played terribly apart from Warner, the bowling has been brilliant and I love watching that even if we're on the end of it. Sure, we could have more starch, but that's a core issue with cricket world wide at the moment.
