2nd Test: India v Australia @ Delhi Feb 17-21, 2023

I don't think I've seen an Australian team hand over a series so meekly. Carey with that reverse sweep chance that did not go to hand - then giggling about it, Cummins with whatever the hell that shot was...at a time when if we scratched out another 50 runs we could easily have tied the series.

I think Damien Martyn and Michael Slater would like to have a word or two with the selectors about Carey's shot selection and the complete lack of consquences. Or whoever told them to keep doing it. ffs I'm absolutely ropable.

Had the indians on the ropes 7/not many. Let them get to within 1 F****ng run of us. Then the absolutely insipid batting performance. FFS, we make the Kiwis look good.

The team was set up to fail, no tour game while most of the batting was playing the Big Beat Off less than a week before the first test. Pure lunacy and then we have the plans to play back on low decks and the continual obsession to sweep everything. The merkins don't trust their defence and have got no chance.

The worst 2 batting collapses I have seen in my lifetime were Cape Town 47 & Trent Bridge 60 we won the following test.

I reckon we are Buckley's here though to win a test.

This will be a 4-0 defeat and makes a mockery of the World Test Championship if we play India in the final.

Another enquiry will be needed to look at preparation.

England should be red hot favourites atm to win the Ashes different conditions yes. But the flippant comments from the Aussies about Bazball has me worried. It hasn't failed yet and would be naive to expect it wouldn't work against us as the moment the pressure is on we falter.

On the flipside last time we played a tour game there they served up a green top.

We're a pack of incompetent, clueless muppets with a tactically inept coaching staff but the BCCI were also always going to stack the deck against us. In a weird way I envy India that...it's better than a board who'd rather 25 days of test cricket a year even if it means playing them all on concrete

This is the main issue. The ridiculous sweeping today showed that they really don't have any confidence batting against their spinners so are resorting to risky premeditated shots. For all the talk before the series about how confident and prepared they are it certainly doesn't show in their play.

Handscombe and the Indian lower order showed that this pitch was by no means unplayable. Renshaw and Carey in particular look well out of their depth. Smith and Khawaja should know better. Our tail offers pretty much nothing.

I don’t think these guys really care much about Test cricket, if it’s not at home.
Money is the goal and it’s getting thrown at them from every angle.
I wish Bacchus, Warney and Simmo were alive to give them the shit they deserve.

I dont think we will see us win a series in India for a long time if ever in our lifetime.

2004 may be the last conquerors.

2017 was the closest we may get and what a missed opportunity it probably was.

Kohli barely got a run that series. Smith was Bradman like.

We were up 1-0 and had 93 run lead in the 2nd test. They will rue that test for a long time. That Bangalore test we were so close that we may never get that close again.

Considering they were talking up our wins over windies and south africa as if we were a good chance of beating India, I'd say we have our priorities all messed up.

Really worried about Smith. Apart from the windies his highest average vs an opponent is India. If he's not scoring runs this series the Ashes aren't looking too good.

Smith has never been a sweeper, until now.

Its obvious the brains trust had the brilliant idea to tell every man and his dog to get out the broom, cos its sweepin' time. And make sure you have an ambidextrous handle, cos if you don't reverse, it's not a real sweep shot.
