They were saying Sri Lanka would've started their 2nd innings on 0/5..

I like to lol@KP as much as the next person, but credit where it's due..

That was a cracking knock..:clap::clap:

With the wicket starting to wear it all up hill for the Lankas to save the game..

since when did that become a rule?

you cant change your batting stance till the ball has been let go but the umps dont enforce it, about time they started but it was Dilshan that made them force their hand

Dilshan knew the rules and KP didn't carried on like a tool, he was changing his stance during the run up

I don't mind Dilshan, but I laughed at this
Dilshan fined for excessive appealing
ESPNcricinfo staff
April 6, 2012

Tillakaratne Dilshan has been fined 10% of his match fee for excessive appealing during the third day of the second Test against England at the P Sara Oval in Colombo.

The incident which brought the charge occurred at 88.2 overs, when Dilshan appealed for a bat-pad catch at short leg against Jonathan Trott. The ICC statement said Dilshan ran through in celebration before a decision was given, then turned around and appealed repeatedly.

Dilshan was charged with a Level 1 offence, contrary to clause 2.1.5 which covers "excessive appealing and excessive shall include a) repeated appeal of the same decision/appeal and b) celebrating a dismissal before the decision has been given."

He pleaded guilty to the offence and Javagal Srinath, the match referee, said: "Dilshan accepted the charge and the penalty imposed without qualms and so there was no need for a formal hearing."

Dilshan was often at the centre of the action on the third day and was bowling the over during which Kevin Pietersen was given an official warning for preparing to play the switch hit before the bowler was in his delivery stride. Dilshan twice aborted a delivery when he saw Pietersen changing his grip before the warning was given to the batsman.

Don't the umps hate it when you don't turn around to see their decision..

He was so pumped all day that something like that happening was always on the cards..

I've seen heaps worse from Warnie & Harby..

I think its the running down the pitch and celebrating before the decision and trying to influence the umpires decision that they dont like.

Pisses me off when they do it.

when Australia was a better side, they used to be notorious for that sort of behaviour and even though it was a common grievance, they never really got in trouble for it.

it's lunch on the 5th day and a result is immanent. Sri Lanka all out for 278 finish with a lead of 93. Swann finished with 6 wickets in the second innings and barring an EPIC choke, England will win this and remain number one

Great start from Sri Lanka with the ball, Dilshan opened and in his first over got Strauss, England 0/1, require 94

bloody Tony Greig commentating. Sri Lanka review one and it remains not out. England 8/1 and Sri Lanka are down a review

great review from Sri Lanka and Trott departs for 5, England are 31/2 and require 63 more.

England take it out easily after a 66 run partnership between Cook and KP. KP again batted really well, made 42 from 28 balls before the match was over, he also denied Cook a half century, Cook finished on an unbeaten 49. I don't think there was a man of the match.
