Eisenhuth was clearly nervous and probably bombed a certain try. But aside from that was ok.
Docker was solid and had that great pass to Coote to set up our first try for Kingston.
Achurch has been good, but tbh I don't buy the fact he will be elite. Good, handy contributor yeah, but I don't get the anger about him going. He got paid great money over 4 years to go to the UK and play International footy as well. No way you could expect Gus to match that for a guy that is still largely unproven. And in return we got equally good, if not better talent in Kyle O'Donnell.
Robinson has gone from strength to strength on his recall. When he first got into grade he looked a bit out of his depth and wasn't really contributing to the level many expected. Sort of like Simpkins. In his recall after working on his game at Windsor, he has repaid Cleary's faith. Played well off the bench which IMO is where he is best suited. Has been an impact player for us.
Mansour was great the first month or two but has started to make some rookie errors as you'd expect. I think he should stay on the wing, I don't think he is ready for fullback and I think we could definitely use his strength on the wing. Moylan/KEIRAN Moss are better fullbacks right now and deserve the opportunity. Our wings are sorted for next few years with Mansour, Satini, Mackay, Roberts, Wes and Pelasio (if he comes back).
It bodes well for next year as 2013 squad with the added depth of getting guys like Simpkins, Robinson & Docker experience is only going to help us.
You'd think the starting pack & reserves would look like this:
8. McKendry, 9. Kingston, 10. Grant, 11. Manu, 12. Brown, 13. Austin
14. Segeyaro, 15. Weston, 16. Robinson, 17. Tia-Kilifi
At some point I'd like to see Kyle O'Donnell emerge as a starting prop, utilising McKendry off the bench at the expense of either Weston/Robinson/VTK and then in 2014 using Segeyaro as an 80 min hooker.
But looking at the depth for 2013 we'll have the likes of Docker, Simpkins, Armit, Ciraldo, Galea, Newton, Smith, Plum, O'Donnell, Latimore etc to call upon as depth should injuries occur instead of being utilised as starters like this year....that automatically puts us in a better position.
I also don't think Pangai will be used as a Winger like many seem to have him slotted in their line ups. I think that comes from reading an article about him being compared to Folau but they are different body types. I see Cleary potentially turning him into a Tony Williams style player which will eventually hopefully see us having a pack and bench in 2014 of:
8. O'Donnell, 9. Segeyaro, 10. Grant, 11. Manu, 12. Robinson, 13. Austin
14. Brown, 15. McKendry, 16. Tia-Kilifi, 17. Pangai
Which provides great impact off the bench along with utility player in Brown who is able to spell Segeyaro at times if needed or slot into the backrow.
Damn I'm excited. lol.
