3: Matulino, 135m, no missed tackles and a try assist for SJ
2: SJ, didn't want to with some basic mistakes he shouldn't make, but he did get us back in the game.
1:Lisone, actually wanted to hit the ball up with speed.

Manu a shocker with his hands, over 10 years in the NRL and he is still serving that up. Bad hands and bad defensive reads.
Kata still making some bad calls as well.
In last 10mins we needed no mistkaes or penalties we gave up a penalty and 5 errors if you count Manu'sbobble into I goal for a repeat set.
Robson made a lot of handling errors as well.
Team actually picked up when Luke off. But Roach didn't impress, great coaching carrying a second hooker on bench with less interchanges.
RTS had an impressive break and a million times better than the pom, but some pretty pathetic effort as last man in defense.

Piss poor really and Cappy has 6 weeks max at this rate.

Good to see The Bunkers first "controversial" call was against the Warriors.

FWIW, I thought Ayshford was very solid for you guys.
When SJ gets his timing right, he can do anything.
Close in the end, points seemed to flow with possession. The classic "game of 2 halves"

Some cool forum heads needed, fellas. We lost our first game of the new season by eight points in oppressive heat. We came back strongly and should have won, bar some silly mistakes and a 50/50 ref call at the death.

3. Gavet (a part-timer remember)
2. Johnson
1. Ayshford

Any side that comes back from 28-4 down, to look like winners, has got something.

While cool heads are needed, we came back on their mistakes, not from us constructing back to back sets and pressure. Then we made under 8s mistakes dropping balls in final 10 mins, not coaches fault outside of picking these players, have t one is a very senior player. No errors or penalties in the final 10 mins I would say we win it.

I like Roach, but he put on two very bad passes. One was down around SJs ankles. Another was to Robson I believe.

For me
3 - SJ
2 - Thompson
1- Gavet

Yep..agree.. I was stumped for 3rd.. toss up between Roach and Robson.

Robson made some blues but he was super busy. To make a few mistakes you've got to be involved.

I thought we lifted once Luke came off and Roach went on..

Luke was very disappointing. .

3. Gavet. Unless the stats are wrong he ran for 130 M and made 16 tackles. The most meters from any of our props.
2. Mannering. 69M 55 Tackles. What about that offload for the try? Just doing his job; as usual.
1. Thompson 65M and 28 tackles in a short spell. When he and Roache came on the game changed.

Honorable Mention. Ayshford. 81M 16 tackles. Did what he was picked for.

Johnson. Nice try from broken play - but way too many mistakes. Basic mistakes. Plus playing too far in front of the defensive line made it easy to pick off the runners.

Very disappointed in Luke. RTS ran well but only 1 tackle and missed 3.

Lillyman only 54M but 26 tackles.

Shame Manu, Kata, Robson and Lolohea hadn't had a chance to touch a ball in pre-season: the shape of it came as a complete surprise to them.

Lisone tried but 15M and 2 tackles is hardly enough.

If Cappy is consistent wioth his KPI's then Manu and Kata are heading for NSW Cup next week.

Lastly spare a thought for Ben Henry. I think his football career may be over.

I don't know why all are making these calls about Gavet and giving him all these wraps. He got dominated in the tackle and Woods completely dominated our forwards. Props job to stop their props and he was keen, but failed in his primary role. Major fail by Cappy putting him on first and leaving Mutts on the bench.

Matalino was the only one to do that job.

All opposition just need to do attack on their right side and they will score at will.

RTS needs to pick up his last man defense. Rest of the team needs to learn to make one on one tackles.

Ayshford was next, Lisone probably needed more minutes (take 5-10 from Lillyman tbh), Gavet was (thankfully) good in both run metres and tackle effectiveness but let down by 1 error and 1 pen conceded in less than 40 mins on field so doesn't make the top 3 for me. No other mentions required. Oh... except Mannering for doing the usual.
